Yeah, why would a business lay a path of success to its most marketable product? Bizarre.

seriously, you have to figure in, that 6 of their games are against the shit division they are in. 12 wins between 3 of those teams.

so you add that in, plus what ever NFC conference they play , and it leads to a shit ranking schedule.

Is this a rhetorical question?

It appears the NFC West and AFC West chose the wrong year to suck ass.

Having teams that had a 1-15 and 4-12 record twice will lower the strength of schedule a smidge.

It's a little soon to conclude that this schedule is "easy".

The schedule is always set every year, so there is nothing manipulated by the NFL to make sure Tom Brady is assured a playoof appearance. This is how the schedule works.

2 games each against division foes = 6 games
4 games against another division within the conference (this rotates on a yearly basis. It just so happens they are playing the weak AFC West.
4 games against a non-conference division (this rotates on a yearly basis. It just so happens they are playing the weak NFC West)
2 games against the first place team from the previous year for the two remaining divisions within the conference (AFC North and AFC South). The Texans finished last in their division, so they are playing the last place teams for the AFC West and AFC East (Miami, Oakland)

The schedule is set this way every year. Its not random at all. The Pats just got lucky considering their opponents.

Considering how many playoff teams fail to repeat their playoff berths, I would have to concur.

Oh, and for the sake of the NFL, the NFC West should be contracted.

Should we name off al the divisions that have failed to put a team in the Super Bowl more recently than the NFC West?

Please explain how that happens. TIA

So Seattle had a fluke year. That's no reason to keep them around.

Uhm, mensa...

Should we start with a hint?

Stanford is often sporting hte most difficult schedule in the PAC10, depending who they schedule out-of-conference (which differs greatly from the NFL). Stanford is usually the worst team in the PAC10.

Light coming on yet, mensa?

OK, let's try a different approach...

For the sake of discussion, let's say you're an NFL GM. But instead of playing 16 games, your team... let's call them, for the sake of discussion, the Dumbfucks....

So, the Dumbfucks are only going to play a 6 game schedule. As GM, you've actually been given a choice of schedules for those 6 games...

A) Buffalo twice (Home and Home)
Jets twice (H&H)
New Englad twice (H&H)

Or...

B)Buffalo twice
Jets twice
Miami twice

Uhm, mensa...

Which schedule sounds easier for the Dumbfucks to take on?

Think hard now.

Then, apply what we've just learned in these excercises, and see if you can figure out why anyone with a brain is laughing at you right now, mvstroller.

OK, look at it this way. Subtract out each team’s oponent record within the division, as this will obviously skew the Dolphins’, Jets’ and Bills’ numbers towards a higher degree of difficulty due to the 16-0 Pats. What you wind up with is:

Dolphins 92-116
Jets 93-115
Bills 94-114
Patriots 87-121

No dramatic disparity, but still the Pats have the easiest schedule of the four.

The patsies play the fins 2 times a year. The patsies do not play the patsies.

Therefore, the fins schedule will be inherently alot tougher. Out of conference games can affect SOS somewhat, but, it is hard to make up for this.

What I really want to know is how do those patsies faggits avoid playing SEC games every fukking year. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya.

Its easy, mv. Take 32 wins and add it to the Dolhpins schedule. Take 30 losses and add it to the Pats schedule. There is your disparity.
