But only if the former Klansman is allowed to refer to him as the "HNIC"

I've never managed to get my head around the lingering animosity people have towards him.

Certainly, givin his past, but it seems quite clear that his attitudes have shifted in the complete opposite direction, he's a brilliant orator, very perceptive and comes across as genuine - whatever you think about his position on policy.

Speaking as a commie, he should be taken out into a field.

But from the here and now of American politics, I don't think it's an issue of hypocricy - more a case of shifting attitudes over a period of decades. Hostility from the American left has more to do with vengeance than anything else, he serves a practical purpose.

I've never seen a person who claimed to know Byrd personally exhibit animosity towards him. It's the mvscals and Cuda's of the world who buy into the manufactured hate spewed by the right wing echo chambers.

Bandwagon jumping? Dude was last in the KKK about 65 years ago. And he gets a lot more shit about his past than David Duke does.

Hell, for that matter, Arianna Huffington made a political 180 much more recently than that, and she gets a free pass entirely.

The fact of the matter is if Byrd had an R behind his name 165 years wouldn't be long enough to live down the fact that he was in the Klan.
The cold hard fact.

Who the fuck is David Duke? What public office does he hold?

Shove it up your ass, fucktard. The fact of the matter is if Byrd had an R behind his name 165 years wouldn't be long enough to live down the fact that he was in the Klan.

You are a pathetic dicksucking bitch.
Byrd has a D behind his name and he's not living down his ties with the Klan. It will ALWAYS remain with him. There are journalists who made it a point to bring up his past just to masturbate about how deeply symbolic and meaningful his endorsement is of Obama. How is Byrd's endorsement any more meaningful than Edwards' or Richardson's or Carter's or Kennedy's or Caroline's or even eventually the Clintons' themselves?

Byrd will never live down his Klan associate, it will always be a part of him. As for David Duke, Duke never rebuked his beliefs in segregation and separatism. As for his public office held, Wiki says he was a Louisiana state representative. So enough somebodies liked him enough to elect him to public office, in spite of his white nationalist views. I do remember that he got a shitload of votes in Louisiana when he was running for governor.

Off topic, your disrespect towards all posters here when their views are different from yours is unbecoming, Ginger. I used to think I knew what that meant, but I'm not so sure anymore.

I always figured that it was only a matter of time before we all read about mvscal climbing a belltower, then picking off passersby below at random with an automatic weapon. Or maybe this board is the reason why that hasn't happened yet. If it's the latter, happy to oblige.

As for Ginger, for some reason I always pictured him looking more like Baba Booey from the Howard Stern show, only considerably less good-natured.

top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.

“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.
So the very thought of Barak Obama as President is inspiring Hamas representatives to contemplate American world hegemony as a GOOD thing?

Wow, that's a real fucking eye roller.
Rob Malley, a Middle East policy adviser to likely Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama, resigned after news surfaced that he had been meeting with Hamas --
So I guess that means he's got 4 more advisers to go before he catched McCain. Keep swinging away Corky.

About as nonsensical as a Hamas representative stating "he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community[/quote]

So, if you are correct in assuming that Obama doesn't want America to lead the global community, that means that the Hamas rep is utterly wrong in his reading of Obama. Ergo, his endorsement doesn't mean shit.

Or maybe you just don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
What exactly does John McCain have to do with Onogga's Middle Eastern policy advisor meeting with Hamas? If nothing, why mention McCain unless you're attempting to duck the issue of you not know what the fuck you're talking about.
So when McCain has top advisers not only meeting with, but lobbying for some of the most oppressive and brutal dictators on the planet, that not relevant? Go fuck yourself.

Yes, Burma could not be more irrelevant if they tried. Their leaders are not international terrorists and McCain's advisor was not meeting with them in his capacity as McCain's advisor and it STILL doesn't have shit to do with your attempt to deny that Hamas and Onogga are on friendly terms.
Burma, Zaire, Angola, Chile...

That might be the problem. Think about it "God Damn America", "First time I can say I'm proud to be an American", endorsement by Hamas, affiliations with a member of The Weathermen, Farakhan (by proxy).

Perhaps the only time it's okay to have affiliations with people who are "inhumane" is when that "inhumanity" is targetting Americans.

And we should vote for this guy. If we don't, we're racist. You don't want to be lynched as a racist do you mvscal ? Rest assured, this subtle form of McCarthyism is coming to a town near you. Sooner, rather than later.

I had to look him up. He looks a little like the 'Growing up Gotti' boy whose father is actually the Dominican gardner (or so they say). I don't understand why Stern makes fun of his lips, except that Stern gets away with racial stereotyping by topping white skin privilege with jewishness. They aren't that big at all. Baba has teeth like Stern's fellow jew, Jerry Seinfeld.... or Estelle Warren, or Megan Fox, or 50 Cent. Or racial depictions of blacks and 'chinamen' from last century. Fair game, but the focus on his lips instead of his much more pronounced hairy eyebrows.... well, anyway, I take it Baba is as much of an asshole as Stern is, for all that?

I don't know what I picture when I read mvscal -- besides the belltower nebbish LOL you got that one -- physically that's a hard one. probably Rickles, after all. There is a slight resemblence to Andy Kaufman, thinking about Rickles and Kaufman side by side. But then the red screws all that up. Redheads are unique.

No, it exists in your posts. Re-read your posts.

Here's what I have on you so far:

Byrd = Former Klansman, changed his ways so he's okay.
Nixon = racist for pandering to racist Southernors.
Republicans = racist because Nixon was a Republican.
Republicans = racists because Ronald Reagan got an endorsement from the KKK, one that he categorically rejected.
McCain = Evil because he consorts with countries that have poor human rights records.

You've now defined the "rules". So I'll follow those rules but apply them to today's players.

Since you don't feel comfortable voting for a Repubican because of the aforementioned rules, can you explain why it is I should feel comfortable voting for Obama, a man who:

Consorts with domestic terrorists.
Expresses his own racism, unabashedly.
Receives an endorsement from a terrorist organization
Did not completely address his affiliation with a right wing extremist separatist movement.

The problem, is that you cannot, intelligently explain to people how you can apply one set of rules to one party and not to the other so you run in the corner, suck your thumb and cry "If you don't vote for Obama, you're a racist".

That's not me being paranoid, it's me observing what's going on and calling a spade a spade, no pun intended.

So how far into Obama's presidency can we expect the executive order establishing "Loyalty-Security Reviews" and are you lobbying for a position on them and using your posts here to build your resume ?

They will lump such things under "Fairness Doctrines." I mean...who could object to being "fair", right?

mvscal,

I've appreciated many of your posts throughout the years and hold you in high regard even though we don't see to eye to eye all the time. I'm afriad I'll have to disassociate myself from you though. Plausible deniability and all that. I refuse to name names.
