Best Recruiting Areas

Miami seems to be the consensus among the recruiting experts.

I'd have to say East Texas stemming all the way from Dallas/Ft. Worth to the Houston area is pretty fucking strong. Well rounded recruiting crop, but southern California is probably the best IMO.

Miami is all about the skill positions with the exception of QB like the article states.

USC has been pumping out more talent and depth over the past few years than the other big states.

In raw numbers yes.

But per capita I'd say that Mississippi and Oklahoma are. I'm not from Oklahoma and really don't care for the state outside of OU to be perfectly honest but they play some serious HS ball up there. Jenks used to be a pipeline for numerous colleges other than OU including Notre Dame and Kansas State (when they were good).

There used to be a link I had years ago and many comps ago that showed that at the time per capita population wise producing NFL players the best states were: Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Alabama.

I see you working Sun Coast, but honestly who would care about per capita other than some chamber of commerce or something? :hfal:

And did that list include American Samoa? They would have to be the leader in that category.

I have no clue if it included American Somao.

I was just making a statement on the topic to create conversation.

Like I said I really don't give a crap about the state of Oklahoma outside of OU and I think that most here know that.

Yeah, a number of the Hawaii and Utah and a few other west coast schools have a ton of players from American Samoa on their rosters. Last year one of them was a captain for Hawaii and he led them in some sort of traditional dance at each game.

That's stupid. How many teams gather at the 50 yardline and hop around like a bunch of morons before a game? At least what they were doing was something cultural!

Seems as though the easiest way to answer the question would be to take all the NFL players from the past 10-15 years and trace thier "roots".

that is some intense shit. i came across it randomly when they were preparing to play sa in the tri-nations. i don't care much for rugby but figured i owed the match 15 minutes after getting to see that.

The Western PA suburbs seem to still be a major source of talent. I'm not sure how to meaningfully compare the region with other areas. It seems to me that Western PA is more fertile than Eastern PA currently...

That Hakka dance has to be one of those things where if it is your team it is the greatest thing ever and if you are the opponent you hate it. However, I really don't see myself doing that prior to a game. Never was one to get all hyped up in the locker room or on the sidelines. In fact on special team I used to love it at the start of the game if one of the guys I got to hit was all wound up at the start. Usually meant I could put him on the ground.
