I hear he's got some hoof in mouth problems.

Seriously, that's one glorious horse. That stud just has another gear, maybe several more gears.
The best since Secretariat, and I look for him to further that legend.

There is some concern with his starting position, but that is one long race and Big Brown should prevail !!

Yeah, so? What have you got against horses or horse racing?
Many people admire these magnificent animals, especially when they win them some jack at the betting window.

That it doesn't take much more than a shiny ball attached to a piece of string to amuse simpletons like you. Your finer things in life: Diet beer, cars driving in ovals, and animals with midgets attached to them running around race tracks. Yet hockey is boring to you? Great SCOT.

I made a Big Brown this morning that was worthy of a quadruple crown.

Oh... good point.
Actually, I might enjoy hockey if I had a vested interest, like having a team to root for. Same with the NBA.
Enjoy the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes, or don't. Like I wrote before, Big Brown (yeah, stupid name) has the potential of being the greatest race horse since Secretariat and becoming an instant legend. The fact that no horse has won the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978 shows how difficult a feat that is to accomplish.

Well since I'm going to take time out of my weekend to watch, I want him to win or die trying. Literally.
Serously, what is funnier than watching uppidty pretentious horse people sobbing over the "tragic" loss of one of their animals?

So lemme get this straight. You'd enjoy Hockey if you had a team to root for, despite the fact that there are
30 fucking professional hockey teams in the US, most of which have been around since before you were born, some of which have storied histories and long standing traditions, yet you latch onto a fucking horse that you probably only heard about a couple of months ago, a horse that's only been in a total of 5 races?
Fucking ponderous, Whitey. If there's a triple crown of stupidity and ignorance, I've got my money on you in every race.

He stopped running before the final turn. The horse just quit. You can see him pull up, and the jockey decided better safe than glue.
So much for "Legend"

Wolf ive talked to 3 people one very close to Ricky and nobody has an answer. Two of us specualte that not having the winstrol shot played a major paret of his undoing along with the track being dusty. I'll let you know the second i know something

I won't pretend to be an expert on the ponies, but I'm guessing steroid withdrawal had more to do with BB's showing than did dust. Just a hunch.

Larry Bramlage, the respected veternarian who worked the Belmont Stakes on Saturday and spoke out forcefully for reforms after Eight Belles' death, said he doubted that stopping Big Brown's monthly dosage of steroids contributed to his poor performance, given the short time involved.

I think it had something to do with the heat and possibly dehydration-
Big Brown was taking Lasix, a legal anti-bleeding medication that can cause a horse to become dehydrated. Highs were in the 90s and there was oppressive humidity Saturday. Several horses throughout the day were sweating excessively and needed to be cooled off with buckets of water and sprayed with hoses after they ran.

Having finally seen the entire race yesterday, there was one thing that stood out to me. Very early in the race BB damn near ran up the back side of da.... uhhh, da winnah. It looked to me that at that point if he had clear track, he might have run away with it. But, he didn't. Maybe he got a mouth full of dirt or maybe some dirt in the eye. Maybe he just got flustered by getting boxed in.
Don't know wtf happened, but, I'm sure our resident midget horse expert will fill us in as soon as possible.
So, will he race again? I am guessing he will. Can't go out with a performance like that.
