Does Hillary have an alibi?
Big shocker. RIPan apparent heart attack.

At least one liberal was no fan of Russert: everyone's favorite liberal author/comedian/Senate candidate/former talk radio host - Al Franken. In his book The Truth (with jokes), he described Russert as being gullible, credulous, wide-eyed, and unsuspecting. He certainly didn't seem to believe that Russert was the hard-hitting, informed, ask-the-tough-questions, put-'em-in-the-hot-seat-and-watch-'em squirm type of journalist that all his eulogists are making him out to be. The few times I actually did see him on Meet The Press left me with the feeling that he was pretty soft, and was more interested in making sure his guests walked away liking him rather that feeling like they'd been grilled. Mike Wallace he was not. Not saying he wasn't liberal (after all, he was a political journalist on a network not named Fox), but that he didn't have every other liberal singing his praises. At least while he was still breathing.Papa Willie wrote:Russert was pretty much a liberal fag
So are you saying that you disagree with his assessment of Russert, or just making a general observation that 95% of the posters here would agree with? Did you find Russert to be a top-drawer political journalist who was always skeptical of the bullshit he was being fed?mvscal wrote:But Al Franken is an idiot.
A point well taken. Russert also wasn't universally well liked in the blogosphere, as this example from Bart Cop illustrates.Smackie Chan wrote:At least one liberal was no fan of Russert: everyone's favorite liberal author/comedian/Senate candidate/former talk radio host - Al Franken. FTFY - sorry to have to break it to you that way.mvscal wrote:But Al Franken is a comedian.
Did I say or imply that it did?Roach wrote:Well Oh Fuck. That changes everything.Russert also wasn't universally well liked in the blogosphere
Nope, I was just pointing out that not everybody thought Russert was all that.Roach wrote:Oh I get it then.
You just wanted to post pictures about butt-plugs to a bunch of guys...
Same thing Pat Paulsen did when repeatedly running for POTUS. Only Franken is serious about winning.mvscal wrote:Then what is he doing running for United States Senator?PSUFAN wrote:FTFY - sorry to have to break it to you that way.mvscal wrote:But Al Franken is a comedian.
Comedians are supposed to be funny. Franken hasn't been a comedian in decades, if everPUSFAN wrote:But Al Franken is a comedian.
He was great on SNL (if you forget the Stuart Smalley stuff), and like I said, his books are very funny. But I guess if I had to have the humor explained to me, I wouldn't find him funny, either. So you get a pass.Cuda wrote:Comedians are supposed to be funny. Franken hasn't been a comedian in decades, if everPUSFAN wrote:But Al Franken is a comedian.

Damn right you can't wait, since you'll prolly be dead before inauguration day.Wolfman wrote:Can't wait for POTUS John McCain to break the gray ceiling !!
You pathetic Rove Monkey whore, give an example. Show where Russert actually put any pressure--or any aknowledgment, for that matter--of the insideous and widespread Ziocon control of the U.S. government. You know, the glaring number of dual citizens in top positions in the unelected cabal's machinary? The illegal war? The shredding of the constitution? Where was Russert? Fact is, he was a total puppet. Just like you.mvscal wrote:Yes.Did you find Russert to be a top-drawer political journalist
I guess you understood the theme of the forum at long last - better late than never, eh?If we are not going to be nice to
each other--why not get really pissed off and tell people what we really think !!
Sadly, he's probably already forgotten it.PSUFAN wrote:I guess you understood the theme of the forum at long last - better late than never, eh?If we are not going to be nice to

Apples and bowling balls. I think we'd all agree that 58 is way too young for someone to die, particularly for someone with no known health problems. The Presidency, OTOH, is an extremely stressful job, its occupants literally age before our very eyes. And it's a fair question as to whether a 70-something in general, and McCain in particular, is up to the challenge. As for McCain, in light of his background and his most noteworthy psychological trait (a hair-trigger temper), it's certainly a fair question as to whether he suffers from PTSD.Wolfman wrote:BTW---I find it at least interesting that many are bewailing how Tim Russert "died so young"
at the tender age of 58. Hell---if he had lived a little more than 10 more years there is a certain
segment of the population that would be saying how old he was to be in such an important
position !!
So to all you "ageists"--- a hardy FUCK YOU !!
Can't wait for POTUS John McCain to break the gray ceiling !!
He is now a candidate as well as a hack and frightfully pathetic wannabee comedian.PSUFAN wrote:FTFY - sorry to have to break it to you that way.mvscal wrote:But Al Franken is a comedian.
You'll notice that I mentioned that other candidates have run in the past who were older than McCain is now. There are some significant health concerns for McCain. The rather severe case of melanoma he had, for one. Also, he hasn't released any psychological records; given his background that might be relevant.Wolfman wrote:Fact is-- unless John McCain was say--- 95 and in a nursing home, whining about his age is nothing
short of some people's prejudice against older people.
Presidents serve four year terms, not eight years, old man. The two most recent single term Presidents -- Carter and Poppy Bush -- also aged significantly during their terms.Also-- I got news for you-- the idea of the POTUS under such stress that they age so much is pure
BULLSHIT !! Let me clue you in--- you will not look like you do now in 8 years !!
IDIOTS !!
I completely disagree. His recent behavior is simply an indication that he's a slow learner, and his life "experience" is finally starting to bear fruit. He shoulda known a long time ago that this is a smack board (allegedly) and acted accordingly then. The fact that he is now starting to use this board in the fashion it is intended to be used shows that he is only now starting to get it. His brain seems to actually be kicking into high gear. I'm tellin' you, the ol' codger's got a mind like a trap door.Goober McTuber wrote:I think Wolfman’s recent rants/meltdowns in here are ample evidence of why people are concerned about putting senile citizens in the White House.
