Bill Doba. Nce guy, average football mind, but did not have the type of personality needed to maintain control of a D-1 football program.

In the past 18 months, at least 25 players have been arrested or charged with offenses that carry possible jail time,
$C lite ?
This year, one player faced felony charges after hitting a man on the head with a frying pan. Another tried to hurt a teammate by soaking his contact lenses in rubbing alcohol. A third was accused of punching a student, knocking him unconscious and fracturing his cheekbone.
Whaaa ?
The midfielder grabbed a steak knife, the goalie a butter knife
This made me laugh.

The term 'genius' is tossed out WAY too often, but in this case it fits.
George Carlin was a comic genius.
Easily one of TEH most influential comedians of his generation.
Unique, bright, articulate and ... funnay.
Too much of his routine the past 20-something years involved largely unfunnay politcal rants, however.
Became a bit of a parody of himself near the end, IMO.

By whom? I'm sure he could still sell out Indian casinos, but his best days as far as comic quality is concerned was, by far, in the '70s. He went from being a cool, laid back comedian who would create and portray characters onstage and comment on contemporary culture to a run-of-the-mill political ranter and parser of the language. Some of his material became funnier to read than it was when he delivered it as part of a routine. But back in the day of
Occupation: Foole and
Class Clown, he was certainly the best. I had just read in the
Washington Post last week that he'd been selected to receive the Mark Twain Award for humor. Too bad he'll be pushin' up daisies when it's presented.

Carlin was definitely one of the best. I did enjoy his political humor somewhat even though it was left-leaning for the most part.
From the article, made me laugh.
"WSU is a hard school to go to, man," Williams says. "You ain't got nothin' to do but get drunk and smoke weed, and not go to class because you're too tired from doing what you're doing."

It doesn't look like Wulff does either if he refers to his players as "kids." They're adults & need to be held accountable as such (something the DA on both sides of the mountains need to learn).

I was at the Summerfest show in 1972 when Carlin was arrested for saying “The seven words you can’t say on television”. Shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker and tits.

RACK George Carlin and RIP.
I'll never forget seeing him live. Dude told the truth - as he saw it - regardless of it's appeal or lack thereof. I remember when he went into the oft partially quoted rant about abortion. The crowd was rolling with him as he railed about not wanting to fuck the women at pro-life rallies, how pro-lifers care more for the child before he's born then after, with the audience trolled - he breaks out with - "But you can't fool me, it stops a beating heart and is murder".
His comments on growing up catholic in catholic schools were some of my favorites. "That's 6 sins, for ONE feel".
Ballsy dude. He will be missed.

I laugh along with any comedian, regardless of whether or not I agree with the political persuasion revealed. I feel bad for those who cannot do that.
Hell, in my book, Michael Savage is one of the funniest mofos out there.

None too fucking soon. The only "comic" who's been unfunnier for longer than George Carlin is Robin Williams. He'll make somebody some death-pool bonus points someday; hopefully sooner than later

I don't know...but I sure think he is. Bottom line, he's hilarious. He usually tires of the show a half hour into it. He starts raving and frothing at the mouth thereafter...good stuff. Sometimes the stories he tells are pretty great. At very least, he's different - he's in his own little world.

What makes you think that, Babshice?
I don't recall mentioning carrot top, ever, although the name itself gives me no reason to think the act would have any intentional humor in it

It's sad to me when an Athiest dies for some reason. Carlin was a smart comedian and I always had a lot to think about after his set. I actually just watched a broadcast of an old Mike Douglas show w John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Carlin was also on the show and I was just thinking to myself "who else is still around from that era that's as vital today?".

RACK it, Tom.
I've got some Carlin that I've been playing while I've been doing radio shows over at SN lately. I may have to have a Carlin tribute hour, this Friday night.
I'm fairly certain I can squeeze in the entire album of "Class Clown," and then some.
RIP
Btw, Cuda ... try going back to the unfunny reset of PSU's dirty drawers for the 1,456th time. That shit is comedy gold compared to your "take" in this thread.
