worst thing NCAA has ever done.
it's absolutely killing programs, and not just mens programs, some schools are cutting womens and mens programs because of it.
womens sports are bigger drains than the Nfleurope was. i'm all for womens rights, but cutting Hockey programs for Womens curling is absolutely asinine.
Question about this NCAA rule. could a booster pay for all costs of a mens sport so the school doesn't have to bring in a womans sport to equal it up?

This is not an NCAA rule. This a a Federal Law, Dept of Education.
And no boosters can't pay for the cost of the program to keep it out of Title IX enforcement. Now schools don't have to comply with Title IX, but then they would loose all Federal funds.

so how much does tejas get from the govt? see, a booster could invest that lost money and bang, you have your mens sports and the women can fuck off.Ever watch womens hockey?? its fucking horrible/ women are excellent at volleyball, field hockey, and good in bball, swimming, etc but eh, who cares, wont change!
SLU should have a hockey team but the title bullshit keeps them from it. they had a real good program at one time.

I would estimate the amount of federal funding across the entire UT system to be in excess of $100 million per year. Prolly half of that is matching funds from private companies.

BtH is correct. Emailed the question to the RICE SID. Many other scholarships also recieve small amounts of Federal monies so many of those students would also have to give up their help.
