"I'm not against Barack Obama," said Willie J.R. Fleming, an organizer with the Coalition to Protect Public Housing and a former public housing resident. "What I am against is some of the people around him."
Eerily familiar, eh?

I'm pretty sure that this was a concept brilliantly pioneered by Republicans.

Now why do you want to make a thread where The Big Black Pickle In My Butt will have to spend 2 hours reading?

Well, it's certainly not going to help that he has to read your post twice.

Dude, I think I'm on the record as being vehemently opposed to the two party system.

But... that doesn't mean I'm going to spout outright falsehoods to try and make a point.

A tactic that you apparently embrace.

I'll help you out, either with your lack of honesty, or lack of knowledge... unless you attribute this lie to diet or genetics...

Uhm, ever heard of the New Deal, Mikey?

It probably represents the major turning point towards major, widespread shifting of John Q's hard-earned money to scamming contractors.

Since you're obviously fucking ignorant, I'll help you out more...

The New Deal was an FDR thing.

Remind me again which party he was?

As far as the original article... I'm not reading all that.

But I'm pretty sure the bottom line works out to...

So, the government had the brilliant idea to subsidize poverty, and things didn't go as planned, and there were unintended consequences?

WELL GEE, WHOEVER WOULDA THUNK IT?

Maybe someday the People of this Great Land of Ours will realize that when you subsidize something, you have, by the basic laws of supply and demand, created a market for more of it.

Not a really sound idea when you're talking about subsidizing poverty, unemployment, and broken homes.

Serious rocket surgery, that. Don't exactly take a degree in economics to figure that one out.

How fucking dare you?

People who own very large construction/developement companies have to eat too, you know.

Subsidize a slum... then bitch about slums. It's the American Way, sadly.
