Hey Papa, remember this name... Clinton Durst (RFrosh). He'll be your starting punter by the end of the season and you can damn near take that to the bank. Never even had played a day of football at any position until walking on. Kid should be up at an ACC school playing soccer but chose to go to Auburn and try his hand at punting instead. His brother was a pretty damn good player for the Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) in MLS before he had a leg injury. I've personally seen him launch a football at FWB HS just BSing around damn near the length of the field with a single bounce. Kid is Da Troof.

#25 Notre Dame......

Few things i agree with is that OSU is #2, as they will finish #2 again this year, and FSU is not a top 25 team.

tOSU goes down to a third SEC team in the title game. Wouldn't that be some shit?!
I don't think Georgia is better than OU and I don't think OSU will get back to the title game.

Florida won't be in the top 5 or even the top 10 by the end of the season unless there is some serious sec ball sucking going on.

Yeah, UF's a top 5 team I think. But mostly because...who else you gonna put in there?

I'd move USF into PSU's spot, PSU into Pitt's spot, and boot Pitt down ten spots.

I wouldn't underestimate Texas, Muschamp will make a big difference.

Georgia has a tough-ass sched but should still make the championship with one loss.

Agreed that we don't belong in the Top 25 at this point. That being said, I think ND will surprise a lot of people this season. Look for ND to have one of the highest, if not the highest, increases in wins among 1-A schools this season compared to last season.

Most ridiculous line in the ND analysis:
Athletic director Kevin White leaving Notre Dame for Duke might have been a sign of impending doom for the Fighting Irish . . .
Anyone who would write that obviously has not the slightest clue of what White's tenure as ND's AD has been like. Then again, I suppose I should consider the source. White wanted ND in a conference, so does the WWL.

Yeah, Texas Tech at #8 is laughable. They have the same team every year. They're a 7-5 football team, however with a few scheduling breaks they've managed to win 8 or 9 games. They never beat anyone (except once or twice beat Texas) and they beat up on the sister's of the poor to pad that 7-8 wins.

I don't see why they're any improved this year. Just having Michael Crabtree doesn't mean they'll win 10 games especially considering the Big-12 is looking to be a very tough conference this year. Texas Tech will be a 7 win team.

Tech's schedule:
Date Opponent / Event Location Time / Result
08/30/08 vs. Eastern Washington Lubbock
09/06/08 at Nevada Reno, Nev.
09/13/08 vs. SMU Lubbock
09/20/08 vs. Massachusetts Lubbock,
10/04/08 at Kansas State Manhattan, Kan.
10/11/08 vs. Nebraska Lubbock
10/18/08 at Texas A&M College Station
10/25/08 at Kansas Lawrence, Kan.
11/01/08 vs. Texas Lubbock
11/08/08 vs. Oklahoma State Lubbock
11/22/08 at Oklahoma Norman, Okla.
11/29/08 vs. Baylor Lubbock

I think they'll loose two of their three tough road games. (A&M, Kansas & OU). They have a decent shot of being 10-2 this year, imo.

Oh wow, guess I probably shoulda looked at their schedule.

Yeah, I'll put them at 9-3 or 10-2.

Wow, Mike Leach is a piece of shit. Bill Snyder thinks they're playing a weak OOC schedule.

Didn't they play 3 or 4 1-AA opponents 2 years ago? Congrats on only scheduling 2 this year.

This is what pisses me off about college football. I'm tired of this OOC weak schedule bullshit. It annoys me. We have maybe a total of 4-5 watchable ballgames in September every year (except for your team, of course). It's become a joke.

NFL > CFB

Just sayin'......

I heard a Tech honk (Lubbock radio guy) on OKC's "Sports Animal" a few weeks ago while driving from OKC to Tulsa talking about their team and how the expectations are pretty high this year, given the return of the starting QB, Crabtree and a shitload of defensive players.

While he did say that the 'Raiders have those three tough road games, he also pointed out that as long as the team stays healthy -- and out of jail -- there was a remote, "best-case scenario" possibility of "this team being 10-0, heading into the OU game." His words, not mine.

If that were to hold true, no doubt ABC would be salivating all over that game for a prime-time slot. Hell, Cuntsberger might even get a DUI in Norman, that weekend, God willing.

Personally, I don't see Tech being undefeated by the time they play OU, but a lot of other things could happen (OU losing to Texas and Texas losing to Tech, for starters) which could make the game huge. We'll see.

My only hope is that Mike Gundy has another non-game-related, YouTube-worthy, pathetic meltdown after OSU gets their asses handed to them in Lubbock, AGAIN. Bwah
