too bad. i sort of agree with Stoops quote, but somebody must have pulled the trigger*. Kid is a dumbass being on probation but his phone will start ringing soon enough.

*(Boren?).

Sounds like a Boren move to me. I agree with it though.

When keeping it real goes wrong.

the best part about mortgaging your football future is you have more time to learn how to actually freestyle. and make sure your moment of infamy isn't hijacked by some fat cracker bobbing his head.

"We have already stressed to him that his citizenship is of the utmost importance. He understands that anything less than exemplary behavior will not be tolerated."
Sounds like he was hanging by a thread, and this was enough to cut the string.

Especially considering it took the charges being reduced just for him to be able to attend OU.

Good move sending him packing. Playing D1 football isn't a right, it is an honor.

meanwhile, Urban Meyer re-instates Ronnie Wilson.

and EDSBS calls it "it's opposite day"!

"Wilson is not currently enrolled in classes, but “would like to remain at UF.” Urban Meyer will conclusively kick him off before the judicial hearing in August, and thus assert himself as a disciplinarian! It’s opposite day yay!

Ahem. He’ll totally be back and in the starting rotation by November when he gets his conditioning back. We’re already resigning ourselves to this inevitable and sad fact of having a Lou Holtzian coach. Stop looking at us like that–we suddenly feel…threatened…(reaching in trunk…)"

Here's hoping Stoops doesn't let him out of his scholarship until after classes start. Then he will either lose a year of playing time or have to sit out and not attend any school for one year. Either way his skills decline and he is that much further from the NFL.

Could anyone understand what the fuck he was rapping about? About the only thing I heard was something about his "nigga Steve"! I just wanna know if the 8th Flo' Crew is gonna respond to this with a video of their own on YouTube.

Yeah, he should never have been offered a scholarship to begin with. His history was suspect to say the least.

His rapping shouldn't be a reason for being kicked off the team. As far as I gather, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular.

This is what happens when you recruit without regard to character. It's as simple as that.

It's too bad he was kicked off the team for rapping.

Weak.

Ok frozen, what's the real story ?

He didn't have a history until after he signed...

I understand that.

Why didn't they pull his scholarship offer after he plead guilty to 2 felony charges.... before he enrolled ?

He did have a "history" before he enrolled...

Wouldn't he have to sit for a year regardless having signed an LOI?
Ton of factors, but if Stoops pulls it before the kid matriculates then there is a chance that he goes to another D-1A school right away. By waiting until school starts it makes it much more difficult for him to land at another D-1A school this year. Also forces him to sit out for a season, but OU also can't then use the scholarship for any other players currently on the roster.

Remember the Randy Moss signing. He signs with ND, but they pull his scholly in early summer. FSU signs him and then he gets kicked out of there after he matriculated. So he goes to Marshall but sits a season.

Really ???

This is a quote from the Sooner website provided...

Jarboe ended up pleading guilty to two felony charges relating to the stolen handgun.

It may have been reduced to misdemeanor under Georgia's First Time Offenders Act.... but he did plead guilty to 2 felony charges.

That's some serious shit right there.... and OU still offered him a scholarship.

a lotta teams were gonna be offering Jarboe, not just OU.

please. it's like CU fans. they have players who are saints charged with serious crimes.....if you listen to them. Jarboe gets dumped (should have), and Lynn Katoa and Riar Geer get to play after serious stuff yet Oklahoma is still the "win at all costs" program.

Kid doesn't have a felony on his record. That's basically some really shitty writing there-he plead guilty to two misdemeanors which were originally charged as felonies.

So, what's the rest of the story ?

All BS aside you'd be better off committing a crime than not completing your school work in Norman and that is from a player at OU earlier in the decade.
