Which Oregon marketing ploy is dumber?

The "House of Loud" ?

Eugene, Oregon company RUXXE announces that it has trademarked a nickname for Autzen Stadium.

Oregon’s Autzen Stadium has a reputation among the college football community as being one of the most intimidating places for opposing teams to play. The level of noise that Duck fans create during games is said to be unmatched - even by much larger stadiums, such as Michigan’s “The Big House”, Ohio State’s “The Shoe” or “The Swamp” at Florida.

RUXXE is excited to give Autzen something that is long overdue, a nickname that Duck fans can embrace - a nickname that truly invokes the experience of college football at Autzen Stadium… “THE HOUSE OF LOUD”.

Both are gay.

I'm all for stadium nicknames, but THOL is lame. They should have held a nicknaming contest among the students or something.

The duck, no fucking way! Looks like Howard or Donald or Daffy on roids.

As a Duck fan, I can tell you that we already have a nickname...


We call it "Autzen." And that name is enough to spark fear in the hearts of opponents just fine on its own.


Roboduck looks pretty tough, but he'd need to have some tough-guy schtick. Not sure what... beating up opponents' mascots has already been dome by the current mascot. Maybe ripping the heart out of a live beaver or husky then eating it while it's still beating at the 50 yard line during halftime or something might do the trick.


Then again, everyone is next door in the training facility furiously slamming beers during halftime, so maybe not.

Very impressive -- but I'm thinking PETA might have a beef with that... in Eugene, no less.

I guess the Cougar actually got hurt during the deal... and the Duck got an actual NCAA suspension out of the deal.

The UO frat that used to have the guy who came to games in nothing but a barrel and long johns was pretty sweet... especially in the U&L in November!

I don't care where you are short of soCal or southern Florida... it's too cold to just be wearing a barrel to a football game!
