Pretty much like that every summer here, although it rained about 0.05" a week or so ago.

But we more than make up for it in winter.

And we have these things called "rivers," which we can pump dry to irrigate crops.

You mean to tell me that water falls from the sky? How will our cars ever stay on the road and our houses on hillsides?

Sincerely,

SoCal

It's been an unusually wet spring and summer this side of Lake Erie. The area is more verdant than any summer I can remember since 1989.

We now know why Dinsdale spends a lot of his time wandering around in a cornfield...looking for pussy. Psst Dins, she's over at the barn.

Hmmmm...I'll mention this "river" thing to our ag guys. They might be aware of some rivers around these parts that they could utilize.
Go ahead and throw in inpoundments, dams, ponds and wells. Capture the water when you have a lot of it, then pump it on to your crops. Novel idea

The next time you think you've come up with a funny contribution...

Trust me -- you haven't.

Keep it to yourself, and we'll all be better off.

Same - Haven't even thought about turning the sprinklers on this summer - I don't think we've gone more than 5 days without rain since March

Yep, and where as normally my has lawn has gone dormant by now, I've had to be out there mowing almost every 3rd day. :brad:

Sure can't complain about the cool temps we've been having the past several days, though. Can't say as I remember an August as mild. Usually, the heat and humidity are brutal this time of year.

Briggs and Stratton engines take no stuff from grass clippings.

Craftsman tools are still the best.

I didn't know corn could grow underwater. Or have things dried up a bit in Iowa since earlier this summer?

Craftsman doesn't actually make tools...

And they never have.

Damn right. Just a few weeks ago the westside of Rochester was looking like Houston after a tropical storm.

No worries for me as I live on high ground. But my basement dehumidifier is working overtime.
