Guerrilla insurgencies are an entirely different thing. First off, Russia has to attempt to occupy Georgia. I'm not certain that is their plan at all. My guess is they want to reduce Georgia's ability to operate militarily against the separatist provinces to nothing. Once they achieve that goal, they would be fools to do more.

Why is everyone including Harper and Bush blaming Russia for this?

Georgia started it, Russia finished it.

I know to Georgia is a US puppet state but shooting and killing Russian peacekeepers and civilians, what did they think Russia was going to do?

Georgias NATO allies told them not to start this, they have over 1000 Israeli advisers, so where are their Israel buddies? Why are they or their US buddies not coming to their aid? Oh wait I forgot the 'big tough' US only goes in where they think they can win but they can only beat the very tiny countries and not countries like the size of Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan.

So Georgia started all this and now they are getting their asses kicked they want a ceasefire? :roll: I guess their 1000 + Israeli advisers are not very good at advising as unfortunately I think Russia is going to teach Georgia one hell of a lesson as they are not stopping.

What about the weapons Israel gave Georgia? I see they stopped the sales this weekend as they were worried Russia would start selling arms to their Arab neighbours again.

South Ossetia should be their own country or merge with North Ossetia that is in Russia. They voted overwhelmingly twice to separate under international observers but the problem is Bush does not approve.

Are the soldiers of Georgia and politicians going to be held responsible for war Crimes and ethnic cleansing against the South Ossetia people? or because they are backed by Washington this will go un punished?

I also see the US transported Georgian troops back home from Iraq too..

The American media such as CNN, Headline news and MSNBC are sickening.

They say Russia is the big bad guy in this, they invaded a soverign country blah blah but yet fail to mention Russia had peace keepers in South Ossetia for years then Gorgia attacked, killed 2000+ and were shooting at civilians fleeing in their cars, nor do they mention the Crimes against humanity or ethnic cleansing Georgia does.

Georgia started this and received the consequences. Blame the president of Georgia, he has all this blood on his hands. yet no one in America seems willing to do that.

We could quite easily defend Georgia against the Russians if we were so inclined. The Russian air force is a total joke as is their army.
