Okay, so now that I've finally had a bit of time to look over the teams and read the magazines, here's my 2008 picks...

Top 10
1.Ohio State (12-0) (I just have a hunch they'll beat USC and then cruise through Big-10 play)
2.Oklahoma (13-0) (schedule is very favorable, Bradford is a stud)
3.USC (11-1) (If they beat OSU, they'll be #1, Pac-10 isn't that good this year)
4.Clemson (12-1) (it's either now or never for Bowden, ACC is weak, favorable schedule)
5.LSU (11-2) (Georgia has too many off field issues, LSU still the team to beat in SEC)
6.Georgia (11-2) (off the field issues and tough schedule, they'll lose to LSU in title game)
7.Texas (10-2) (favorable schedule, predicted losses to OU and Kansas)
8.Arizona State (10-2) (Erickson just wins, Pac-10 not that great)
9.Penn State (10-2) (Big-10 is weak, schedule plays out perfectly for New Years day bowl run)
10.West Virginia (10-2) (too weak of a schedule not to win 9-10 games)

Heisman Candidates...

1.Chase Daniel, QB Missouri
2.Knowshon Moreno, RB Georgia
3.Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma
4.Beanie Wells, RB Ohio State
5.Percy Harvin, WR Florida

Teams on the rise....
1.Clemson
2.Pittsburgh
3.UCLA
4.Colorado
5.Miami

Teams on the decline.....
1.Virginia
2.Navy
3.Hawaii
4.Michigan
5.Virginia Tech

Most overrated teams...
1.Florida
2.Michigan
3.Wisconsin
4.Texas Tech
5.Kansas

And then.
Most overrated teams...
Kansas
Forget about insurance and get in the blindfold and pinata business instead. It would seem you have much expertise in that field.

Good grief.

I guess if KU is over rated, then Mizzou must be off the charts.

Take a chill pill, man, I actually have decent reasoning behind that. It's not a crazy pick at all. Kansas is a decent team, I just don't think they'll be as good as projected. 8-9 wins most likely, but not Top 10-15 in my opinion. You do understand that Top 10 teams don't necessarily ONLY lose to other Top 10 teams, right? See, in college football, there's this little thing called a "trap game". Looking at the schedules, I can see the game at Kansas being sort of a trap game for Texas. Road game right before a revenge game against a rival. And Kansas is good enough to beat Texas at home if Texas doesn't bring their "A" game, so I think this is going to be perhaps the only winnable game against a quality opponent Kansas will have this year. Gee, what a ridiculous prediction......what the heck am I thinking!!?? :meds:

Killian or Lefty,

Can we get a sticky up on this bitch, just so we can all laugh at NOJ at the end of the season?

How the hell is Pitt "on the rise?" They were worse last year than the year before, and Wanny is a national punchline. The guy hasn't done jack shit there.

Pitt on the rise?

Bwahahahaha!

Sin,

MSU in 2006 and 2007

Michigan proved UF was overrated last year. Why not this year? I think it's plausible.

I'm just pissed you didn't include Mizzou in your Top 10. Chase Daniel, whom you rightly recognize as a Heisman candidate, is going to bitch slap the team from his own backyard who passed on him in recruiting.

Or to put it another way, how the fuck does Texas rate the #7 slot if an over-rated patsy like Kansas is going to roll them up? And Kansas is an over rated patsy, make no mistake.

I typed out a long response to JON in another thread that I wasn't able to submit because the board went down. I went to respond later, but his post was gone. I have no idea what happened. Posts that had already been submitted just got erased. Could be the work of The Alliance.

Did I not explain to you my reasoning behind Texas losing to Kansas? It's in plain English and didn't call Kansas anything near a "patsy". I wanted 5 teams for my overrated list and I had 4 and the only other team I thought begins the season a tad overrated was Kansas. I like them around 20-25.....not 10-15.

Oh yeah, my bad. I knew I was forgetting someone. 'tis why you actually prepare a list instead of just winging it. Sue me. Throw them at #9, bump West Virginia out of the Top 10 and move ASU to #10. Missouri loses to Texas, goes 11-1 into the Big-12 championship game and falls to OU again.
How the hell is Pitt "on the rise?" They were worse last year than the year before, and Wanny is a national punchline.
Loaded backfield. I think their defense will be pretty good as well. Schedule is favorable. I look for them to go 9-3. I know, Wannstedt sucks. Yeah, so does Zook. Sometimes you've just got too much talent with your schedule to NOT win 8-9 games. Look at Gary Pinkel. You're a retard if you think that jagoff can coach. But he's probably going to have double digit victories in back-to-back years because he's got a crap load more talent than anyone else in the Big-12 North. It's really that simple.

LSU is doing a little rebuilding this season. Granted the buckeyes played for it all in a rebuilding year but LSU plays a tougher sched than the bucks did. IMO Auburn has a solid shot at taking the SEC-west.

I'll put the bucks on top. I like their experience edge on USC, think it should be the difference early in the season against USC.

Considering the improvement the D made once Ruffin became DC I wouldn't consider them overrated. With most of their starters back on both sides they'll put up a ton of points and actually stop the opposition a decent amount of the time. Definitely a top15 team IMO

Mizzou should definitely be top10, I like their chances against Texas since the horns will be coming off of the RRS.

PSU will be a solid top25 team but I'd say top10 is really pushing it.
