Howard wasn't lying...

Good ole Howard wasn't lying when he said FAU would hit Texas with multiple guys and try to make them want to quick. The part he left out was that his guys were going to hit Colt McCoy after he was out of bounds and or after he threw the ball.
WTF Howard? Four late hits on McCoy out of bounds and one roughing of him? Play hard, but play with class. Clearly something your programs don't have.

That type of garbage shouldn't come as much of a surprise, especially after Texas made Howard eat his words early and often.

Howard looked like he needed a double by the end of the first quarter. Texas showed its youth in the secondary. Starting 3 freshman will do that. They killed us in the passing game in the first half. The 2nd half was a different story. The offense was methodical. Colt looked as good as I have ever seen him. He was 19-20 in the first half and the only incomplete pass was a ball that hit his receiver in the hands and he dropped. Coach Mus was animated as hell. I loved it. This is a young team that is a year away. They are going to win a game they shouldn't (Mizzou or OU) and lose to someone they should beat (OSU, Tech).

c'mon Harv, you get Mizzou in Austin. that's a game you might even be favored. don't be such a sandbagger.....
and in shouldn't category, haven't you been paying attention....Tech is the greatest team of *all time*. while i never pick the RRS, i'd say the trip to Boulder can be a trap the week before (look at last year) and then Mizzou the week after is a tough stretch.
i think McCoy is going to have a very good year and surprise some of the people around the conference who have been doubting him. struggling some last year wasn't entirely on him. he's been sort of lost in the conference QB hype shuffle with Daniel, Bradford, Harrell, and Reesing....because everybody loves the new puppies more than the old dog.

The thing that Colt has is a good line. Ask Bradford how much he loves his boys upfront. Last year we were breaking in a bunch of new players. We lose 1 this year. I like the line and it will be one of the best in the country next year. The run game is solid. Vondrell looked good and so did Cody Johnson. We didn't get to see much of Fozzy. Colt throws a pretty ball. He is also faster than most think. Last year he tried too hard to make plays. I think he trusts his line and his receivers. The guy that impresed me was Blaine Irby. He looks a lot like David Thomas. He caught everything thrown to him.
I know Mizzou is in Austin but c'mon.....Chase Daniel is the greatest thing to play at Mizzou since......Phil Bradley.

Seriously, I think that the CU game is a tough one. They like to run the ball and that is our strength. The secondary needs work. Tech.....please....I know what I am reading and they will be 9-3. Losses to OU and Texas.
I do not know what to make of A&M. Losing to Arkansas St. is just pathetic. I mean, I laughed my ass off when they showed the score in the Stadium but c'mon. I remember last year taking a ton of shit about them playing us close....but they were never close to beating us. This is going to be a long year for the ags......4-8 or 5-7 if they are lucky.

Been telling people this on OU's boards all off season. Nobody wanted to hear it; too busy looking through crimson shades and making fun of McCoy throwing picks as he scrambled for his life last season because of an inept Oline.
I still think Texas plays soft though and it will cost them against OU. I am pretty excited about our chances to get to the national title game right now.
