About the Raider beatdown of the rented mules on MNF ...

Well actually, I think it's going to be a tight defense-oriented game.
Gay Cuntler has looked pretty solid in preseason, but he's without his fav. target -- B. Marshall, and he's going up against a revamped and active 'dud secondary, so let's see what he can do.
Also ... help me, Felix, is T. Nalen OUT for this game?
I think.
I hope.
At any rate, I don't see Dungver playing Lite Brite with the scoreboard at Welfare Reciepients Stadium.
Royalties to my firend, Truman ... I think.
I've read a lot of grumbling by 'dud fans this preseason about Kiffin's ... playcalling. lol
Preseason, friends.
WAY too vanilla, is the refrain.
Well, yeah.
The passing game was about a D+ in preseason.
Kiffin has yet to show his hand regarding McFadden.
All he did with him in preseason is slam him up through the middle of the line ... for 5.4 yds a pop, btw.
Not too shabby.
I suspect we're gonna see some juice when the MNF lights flick on.
But overall, the Raider offense has it's work cut out for itself.
If I'm Rat-fuck I bring MANY bodies up to the line to do your damn bestest to stop the run.
You also put a helluva cover guy on Z. Miller and you tell the 'duds to beat you with their WRs.
We'll see.
I figure Oakland to make a play-or-two more than Denver and to come away with a 13-12 win.

I'm not sure-I think he's going to try and go but he needs another knee operation to clean some things up
if he can't go, Casey Wiegman will start in his place

Whoever wins this lame-assed division gets slaughtered in the first round of the playoffs.
You heard it here first.

No, but the rules require that at least one gets into the playoffs.
Props.

I'm expecting a fairly low scoring game and I'd like to see the Raiders revamped secondary come out of this thing with a couple picks from Cutler. They picked him twice in each game last year. I'd also like to see Derrick Burgess climb over rookie Ryan Clady for a sack or two.
Walker's hamstring leaves an already questionable Raiders receiving corps looking bleak. If they are going to rely on Ashley Lelie to come in and save the day, that will be trouble. Maybe he'll keep Denver honest wth the threat of a deep play but no worries, the Silver & Black will pound the ball on the ground. I'm also expecting the coming out party for Zack Miller soon and all those fantasy geeks can start scrambling to add the FA.
One thing for sure, Shanarat still gets a hard-on for the Raiders.
Asked about the bitterness over being fired by Al Davis oh so long ago:
No, it doesn't dissipate at all," Shanahan said with a stern stare.
The reporter replied: "So feelings are still the same today as they were the day you became the coach here and first played them?"
"I said it doesn't dissipate at all — that's what that means," Shanahan said.
"Thank you," the reporter said after getting a far better response than he expected.
Come on, meat! It was nearly 20 years ago! You won a couple rings since then. Just worry about turning your club around and getting back to the playoffs after missing the past couple years, Bitterman.
At home, AFC rival, Monday Night...the Raiders have got to put this one in the win column.

Cant wait to see McFadden unleashed around the corners instead of being constantly run up through the tackles (which he did a kickass job of, BTW)

Adding Ashley Lelie to the receiving corps was not an upgrade. Run the football, run the football and run the football with the three headed monster. Keep Cutler off the field and when he's on it the Raider D better live up to it's hype. The run always sets up the pass but in our case until one of our guys steps up, were going to have to line up and tell the Mules were going to run the ball and proceed to stuff it down their throats!
Adding Hall was huge to Nnamdi Asomugha who has been ignored for the past few years and this year we might see how really good he is. Huff has moved over to free safety thanks to the addition of Gibril Wilson. He's looked awesome at is true spot and was everywhere in preseason. Drafting Huff could be Art Shells only good contribution to the Raiders, lets hope.

Denver offense has 2 returning starters from last year. They're not lighting up any jumbotrons with- or without- marshall.
On defense, they've got 3 returning starters (actually 4, but one is in a new position)
I figure Oakland to make a play-or-two more than Denver and to come away with a 13-12 win.
If it's close, that may happen- but I don't think it's going to be very close. I see Oakland taking the lead in the AFC West with at least a 10 point win

Raiderfan. This is a quiz. Give me two questions with answers that include the numbers 1, 9, 6, 2, in that sequence?
Ok, I know those were hard. sorry.
1. What was the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis?
2. What is the raiders won-loss record since 2003?
Can't fault your loyalty though, right?
I think maybe if the wal mart employee fan base didn't dress up like such freaks:
People might have more respect,
And other teams might not collect quite as much
Same Old Sorry Ass Raiders.

Good thing Kiffin had the boys ready to play or this might have been a blowout.
errr ..
Denver might give SD a run for their money in the West, based on what I saw.
Cutler had a good preseason and, even without, his best receiver tonight, he looked pretty damn solid.
The Mules played well overall, so props to them.
D'you s'pose anyone notified Lane and the guys that there was a ... game ... tonight?
The new, improved, and highly touted D-Backfield got LIT THE FUCK UP all night long.
3 Personal fouls and D. Hall (who had two of 'em) yappin' at Kiffin on the sideline to boot.
Good times.
No pressure at all from the D-Line didn't help matters at all.
Dungver owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball all night.
I see a year-long problem for Oakland up front on BOTH sides of the ball.
Not good at all.
Poor pass protection any time Russell went back to pass.
James, I hear ya about opening the playbook, but I don't think we CAN open the playbook.
We can't pass protect and we've got mediocre at best wideouts for JaMarcus to throw to.
I guess J. Walker was REALLY hurtin' not to be playing tonight?
Hmmmmm .....
Russell played alright, but he made a couple of costly mistakes early ... which, unfortunatly, is something we'll see more of this year.
He needs seasoning.
If I fault Kiffin, I fault him for 2 things tonight.
1) Not having the team ready to play a game - duh
2) Abandoning the run to soon.
Even down a couple of scores, we should have kept running the ball.
Move the chains, find some stability, gain some confidence, stay IN the game.
The overall Oakland defense (and R. Ryan) could not have been a bigger joke tonight.
Hate to say it, and this is just ONE game, but I don't see Kiffin pulling this Oakland team out of this.
The problems are rooted too deeply.
Just a matter of time 'til Al jerks him.

You have to admit though, as a Bronco fan, the fans in Oakland are ridiculously entertaining to watch. I never seen a collection of cool costumes on display tonight. For a Gaider fan, at least you can find solace in having the best dress fans in football.

Thanks, Raiduhs. With your performance last night, the Texans will now be ranked 29th in the power ranking ahead of you, Detroit, and St. Louis.

Pop, thats bullshit. We can open up the playbook on both sides of the ball.
If the D is going to get torched that bad, then why not just fucking blitz the mad fuck out of Gay Turdcutter and get some nasty hits on his ass with our young, speedy LB's instead of WASTING thier talent? The stat line on that? 1 blitz in the first fucking series. Thats it.
Fuck Rob Ryan and Al Davis (who has input on the D as well)
Both are pathetic cunts who need to be off'd immediately.
JaMarcus Russell is the ONLY reason i'm going to be tuning in this season. The kid is very, very good. I'd love to see what he could do with a real set of WR's and O-line.

James, the defensive playbook needs to be opened, no doubt.
Well, R. Ryan needs to go.
But we suck up front on defense, and that reality hit me hard yesterday.
T. Kelly is a nice player and that's it.
We'll be lucky to hold ANYBODY under 30 pts all year.
Russell turned the ball over in the red zone and he took a very bad sack.
Other than those two bad errors, he played a really good game.
Especially considering the O-Line can't pass-protect and he's got JV receivers to throw to.

Pops, if I see another motherfucking McFadden "off tackle" or inside running play called, im going to lose my fucking mind and kick Kiff's head in.
Fucking guy is one of the fastest players in the L and is known for taking it to the house on the outside blastoffs.......I mean, is Kiff really this fucking stupid? At WORST, McFadden is Nap Kaufman the 2nd in terms of speed and ability around the corner. Utilize his strenghs for fucks sake.
And yes, Ryan needs to be put in front of a firing squad. NOW.
A few defensive players interviewed afterward mentioned the sorry ass "scheme" they were told to run as one of the culprits of the loss. It's understandable that they're pissed (Aso especially) when we've gone from blitzing all preseason to the famous Al Davis man coverage vanilla no blitz package. Fucking old cocksucker.
Fuck him and Ryan.

Two thoughts on McFadden, James.
1. He's only had 10 touches in regular season action.
It's too soon, WAY too soon, IMO, to say he's not being used right.
Also, in our blocking scheme, the run up the middle can result in him taking it to the house just like the outside run can.
2. On the play in the red zone where Russell lost the ball, he was set to flip it out to McFadden on the edge, who had CLEAR sailing to the end zone.
That play was a TD if Russell doesn't have the ball slip from his hand.
It was that kind of night.

Royal didn't really do much at the college level to think he was gonna be some sort of ... STAR ... in the NFL.
So here he is, in his first fuggen game, torching D. Hall all over the field ... and provoking him into two personal foul penalties.
I don't know if Royal will be that great, or if D. Hall was just that fucking AWFUL.
After getting lit by the rookie 3 or 4 times, while playing OFF him, you'd think we'd see Hall up on the line of scrimmage, jamming him, taking him OUT of his comfort level.
Or ... if Hall can't hang, move Nnamdi over to cover him.
But no, just continue with a losing plan.
I tell ya, what I see right now is that the Raiders have no leadership to speak of, and they haven't had any leadership since Rich Gannon left.
Then Hall thinks he wants to bark at Kiffin on the sideline when Kiffin asks him, "WTF is going on, mr. pro-bowler?"
I've got NO patience for D. Hall right now.
Get your shit together, pronto, dumbfuck.

hard to tell but he's got the the one asset that can't be taught
speed-his success against the Raiders was likely a combination of him being pretty good and Deangelo being tremendously overrated
he made Hall look like a flailing rook and Hall made him look like a probowler
My sympathies raydud fans, because it looks like it's going to be a very looooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggg season for you
