If we're talking NFL starters, I think only a couple guys on that list apply...and Culpepper recently retired. Nevertheless the MAC has indeed produced a surprisingly abundant amount of talent over the years at the qb position.

Yeah, Culpepper was never a MAC Qb, was he? Anyway, there's a lot of decent QB talent coming out of the MAC to this day. I've often felt that PSU should focus on recruiting kids who have committed to MAC teams, and then try to swoop in and nab one or two. :D

The Big XII might have the best group of QBs in the country right now, top to bottom, but there's not much to point to in the NFL. VY is the only starter, and he has yet to pan out. Seneca Wallace has proven to have a lot longer NFL career than probably anyone could've expected, at least at the QB position. I can't even think of any others currently playing.

i only looked at 2 divisions in afc, but big10 well represented

amazingly, if duration of cashing NFL checks counts, throw in Sage Rosenfelds and Iowa State is the Big XII's best QB representation.

I would say the Brees/Brady combination is probably pretty potent...although shit that it is...fuck...i guess if Troy Smith wasn't sick...fuck it...good list sam...

let's isolate this to Cal QB's who aren't worth a shit in the NFL...that list would be pretty long eh?

Correct. UCF was a 1 A independent in his years there.

The Big-10 does as good of a job of producing NFL talent as any conference. Even the last few years when they've been considered a mediocre conference they still send plenty of guys on to not only play in the NFL but start and star.

NFL Defensive Player of the year last year was a Big-10 guy (Bob Sanders, Iowa). So was the offensive POY (Tom Brady, Michigan).

Going by the projected Week 1 starters, here's the breakdown:

6 starters: SEC
5 starters: Division I-AA
4 starters: ACC, Pac-10
3 starters: Big Ten, Conference USA
2 starters: Big East
1 starter: Big XII, MAC, Sun Belt, WAC, Division II

Boston College and Purdue are the only two schools with more than one NFL starting QB.

yeah but it's a shame so few of them are going to do anything in the nfl. some won't get a chance because of height concerns (which i think is a pretty bogus reason not to give a guy serious consideration) and some won't make it because they run a somewhat gimmicky spread offense. i know there are a few spread qbs in the nfl but not enough starters to make you think that any of the current big XIIers are going to amount to much.

Reesing, McCoy and Daniel are small, but will get a shot. might not amount to much, but they'll get a chance.

normally, Tech QB's have shown to be system. i was really underwhelmed by Kliff Kingsbury in person (against CU in 02 maybe?)....slow delivery, bad deep ball. and he was the best of them including Sonny Cumbie and the other guy. But, Harrell was a legit recruit. i think he could have a shot. he's got more throws than those other guys.

Bradford is probably the most "pro-type" of them...but who knows? he throws a great ball and has lots of time to do it. he's been allowed to play his position and not necessarily "lead" the team like McCoy, Reesing, and Daniel. that may change this year.

McCoy is a very good college QB. he and Reesing are kind of in the same group. with Daniel a little up.

With Hasselbeck at Boston College, they were in the Big East back then...not the ACC but I included them in the ACC because they are there now. Was Marshall still I-AA or were they in the MAC when Pennington was there? My list isn't accurate to what conference these guys were in at the time, I'm just going by what the programs are at now.
