Week One Rumblings

Obviously the Tom Brady news is the biggest deal. That blow to his knee looked bad, so you gotta wonder if the Bills or Jets have enough in that division to take the #1 spot from the Pats. We'll see.
Something that kind of bothered me in the Jets/Fins game yesterday. The Jets were driving, they were faced with a 3rd and 5 on Miami's 26 yardline. Favre was in the shotgun and the playclock was on display at the bottom lefthand corner of my TV screen. The clock went down to zero and at least another second had gone by before the ball was snapped. No whistle, ball snapped, first down Jets. It was a blatent delay of game and nobody caught it. Not even the broadcasters. The Jets scored a TD two plays later. If they were faced with a 3rd and 10 instead of the 3rd and 5, its possible the Jets would have had to settle for a field goal. A little of my conspiracy theory is coming out with a play like that. I'm wondering if this is the Brett Favre/NY Jets treatment we might see over the course of the season.
Pittsburgh was very dominant yesterday and Baltimore's defense looked really fucking good too. I had a sneaky feeling Cleveland was going to do poorly yesterday and just feel this team is destined for a losing season. Dallas is fucking good though, so I am not about to judge Cleveland's season based on the outcome of yesterday's game. That goes for the Texans, Colts, Jags, Chargers, Seahawks and Faclons too.
Detroit was the only team who's defense played worse than my beloved Texans. Thank God for that, because it made the ass kicking the Texans received a little easier to swallow. Pittsburgh is really good team and Atlanta is not. The Lions were the worst team yesterday followed by the Rams and then the Texans.
The Iggles look really fucking good, but the Rams are not a good measuring stick. Still, McNabb is $$$ when healthy.
Buffalo was fucking dominant yesterday. They could be the last team to get into the playoffs in teh AFC. We'll see.
Chicago's defense appears to be back, but its obvious Manning is rusty and a little timid playing on that knee. If Orton plays mistake free football the way he did last night, then there is not reason to think Chicago isn't a playoff contender in the NFC this season.
Thoughts?
