You assume he didn't do it on purpose.
Mr. Obama, who is a Christian and often proudly speaks about how his faith has influenced his public service, said he finds it "deeply offensive" that there are efforts "coming out of the Republican camp to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith."
For months he has linked internet rumors over his being a muslim with valid questions over his associations with Ayers, his whackjob 'spiritual advisor' and other lunatic fringe types. This could be more of the same, hoping that the GOP comments on this so he can discredit any querstions about his freakazoid mentors.
