Reesing is kind of poor man's/slightly more athletic Josh Heupel. He just makes some plays and doesn't always look good doing it.

yeah, Mizzou fan, we all know Chase Daniel is the man and have seen the turf head pic of Reesing.

Grothe's TD put USF back in it at the half. Bulls would do well to get the first score of the 2nd half.

84 in Tampa, "feels like" 96 -- Mangino is wearing a jacket. Insecurity pays a price, I guess.

I don't get to see Kansas too much. Pretty effective offense they run there. Is that anything like Taco Tech's?

BTW, the graphics photo of Reesing looks like IndyFrisco.

i'm no expert, but the official genealogy of Leach/Mangino at OU is that Leach installed the O in 99 and Mangino was OC in 2000 (though OU fan will tell you that Heupel called all the plays at the LOS in 00, which is not altogether untrue). seems to me, that one of the differences is that Leach continues to drop his QB to a single spot in the backfield whereas Mangino has let Reesing move around and roll out. but, there are similarities to Tech and OU 2000 but not as "high gimmick" as Tech. Leach is a smart guy. Mangino is a good, old school OL coach; which, in the long run may mean he can run a better overall program.

Reesing converting on 3rd and 21 is Heupel-esque.

or: USF D typical of an OU defense Brent Venables who will inevitably blitz on 3rd and long and get burned.

just to offset the homer factor.

here's your dif, Mangino runs it on 3rd and 8 and converts in a 34-34 game with less than a minute left.

I disagree with Spielman that Reesing is better than most -- I think he makes so many plays more challenging than most do. In any event, he's a hell of a competitor and watching Reesing v Grothe was a treat. Probably the most exciting game I've seen this year.

Great game with more shitty officiating. Very inconsistent on pass interference calls, along with some horrible spots.

Yeah, the reffing was pretty bad. A couple of would-be first downs marked incorrectly. They had a review on a pass by Kansas that was called incomplete that would have given KU a first down. Even after review they still fucked it up. It was clear the WR made the catch and then ran about 3 yards after catch and still called no-catch. The most disturbing thing about the refs tonight was that the bad plays seemed to all be right smack dab in front of the official. The official had clear views of these plays and still got them wrong.

Great win by USF. For me, it was perfect. I took KU at +3.5 but I preferred seeing USF win. So I got exactly what I was looking for. Got very lucky in this one, but I'll take it.

Jim Leavitt is becoming one of my favorite coaches. Not only because he's a good coach and I admire what he's done at USF. But also because I think the guy downs a case of beer before games. He sure talks like it!! Love listening to him speak. Sounds shitfaced! I love it!

Did anyone expect better officiating from Mr. Bible's crew?

he makes big plays, and forces bad ones.
on 3rd and 2, with KU just scoring, you think they would try to have him run, with 4 wr set, or a quick out, or even a HB draw. nope, a long pass play, and he was sacked and lost the ball.. KU gets ball and goes right down and scores. poor OC from USF. was Dave Christiansen behind the headset there?

dude, winning on the road vs good teams is tough.

KU did show major nads. had NO running game, their freshman tackles were crumbling, and they still came back after USF stuck the dagger in their heart when they went up 34-20, after being down 20-3.

The fatman might like pies over poontang, but he can flat out coach up average talent.

Let's just call him considerate. Eating can only hurt him alone...sexytime with a lady places another life in jeopardy.

There's no doubt dude can coach 'em up.

Definitely.

I told my gf I'd go with her to a bar last night to celebrate some of her co-workers' birthdays and shoot some pool. I kept telling her it was going to be a great game and she kept looking at me like "yeah, whatever." Next thing I know, she was glued to the TV and ignoring her friends as much as I was.

Helluva game. Damn pick, KU should've eked that game out. Props to USF on a nice comeback. At least somebody from the East is representing.

Reesing was unbelievable last night. Dude made play after play. Grothe was very fortunate a couple of his passes weren't picked, but he made some damn nice plays as well. His TD run certainly gave us some momentum that carried us into the 4th quarter.

That 3rd and 1 pass call was just flat out awful. So reminiscent of last week against UCF with trying to be too cute with things. There is no reason why Taylor shouldn't have gotten the ball. Put Kelly in there as a lead blocker and I think we get that first down.

I've seen some comments on the officiating and I thought they blew some calls. The first down they gave KU on that Reesing run was bogus. My seats are right where that play happened and you could tell from the stands that he was a yard short. Couldn't tell about the Meier play, but Murphy stuck him pretty hard to knock the ball loose. There was also a pass interference call that should have been called in the end zone on our first possession of the second half.

Definitely a roller coaster ride, but that was 2 real good teams battling it out there.
