Damn...71 rushing plays for 380 and only 7 passing for 0. Too often? How 'bout never?

That's not even football.

when Oklahoma ran the wishbone they had some games like that. no completions, 8 attempts. i've got a book with all the Daily Oklahoman articles and boxscores from the 70's and there are some games like that.

If your opponent knows what you're going to do 90% of the time, and you still beat them, that's brilliant football.

I'd call it unwatchable garbage, but to each their own I suppose.

Considering Iowa has a shitty qb but an "all world" RB, they might want to look into it.

Who said we have a shitty QB? We have an inexperienced QB. There is a difference. One thing is for certain.....we won't need our RB to carry the ball 43 times to beat Florida Atlantic. I can assure you of that.
Funny Sparty fan calls Iowa's QB "shitty". I'd rather have our punter at QB than Brian Hoyer and I've never even seen him throw the football.
287 yards rushing from Jevon Ringer, FAU's QB completes 8 of 34 passes and Sparty only wins by 17? Better pick it up or it's going to be yet another sub-.500 season in East Lansing (though you're most certainly used to it by now).

You haven't a clue what the fuck you're talking about.
Apparently you didn't see any highlights of the game. It was a torrential downpour every second of the game. The passing game was taken out of the equation for both teams. There were 10 fumbled snaps in the first half alone. The ball was like a piece of ice. Do you think FAU wanted to run the ball as much as they did? No. They're strictly a one dimensional passing team, but were forced to run that day. When the conditions are fair, MSU is a balanced offensive team. No reason not to be, they have a senior qb and good receivers.

Hu?? According to the box score, FAU threw the ball most of the time.

They spent the first half running the ball more than they would've liked to...which Snelly mentioned. But the game was still in reach and heaving it at that stage was pretty risky. They did air it out a lot more in the second half once the lead grew a little larger.

Calhoun from AF is a hell of a coach. They lost a ton of guys to graduation and are still winning.

Jon, I believe that this would make you an "inexperienced" poster. When the game first started, running is all that existed. Running the football IS football. Or, as many Sooner coaches have been fond of saying, "When you pass the football, three things can happen, and two of them are bad." Being an Iowa fan, though, you are an expert on unwatchable football, and perhaps I should defer to you on that point.

Right, because we're the worst program of all-time. We constantly finish at the bottom of our conference and embarrass ourselves every time we play anyone remotely decent. Typically, we lose by 50 points and go 0-12. If we're lucky, maybe we'll keep it within 40 these next couple of weeks against powerhouse Pitt and Indiana. They might as well just remove Iowa from the Big-10 since we can't compete. Maybe we're just better suited for 1-AA, right? Good take.

Does Air Force still run the Wishbone? I love watching that offense. I hope it comes back someday.

To give credit where credit is due, isn’t that quote originally attributed to Woody Hayes?

Paterno has used it several times, always attributing it to Lombardi
