14-0 already, less than 5 minutes in! That's what I'm talkin' about!

turnover was nice, but CU needs to stop WVU.
WVU played an incredibly bad first few minutes.

Yeah, i think the D needs to be more aggressive against the running game. If Pat White is going to beat us with his arm, so be it, but he's on pace for 200+ rushing yards right now. That's not good.

tell me why Stewart burned a TO for not enough men on a freakin D PAT? just let em kick it. save the TO on the road.
WVU really shooting themselves in the foot. CU needs get the next score and take advantage.

And they just extended his contract 6 more years? Their D is not very good this year and the losses of Slaton, Reynaud and Schmitt are readily apparent for their offense. They are much better when they run. Relying on White's arm will not win them many games.

One thing about running (or not throwing) in the rest of this one...wind is gusting about 40-45 mph where i live (about a 15 minute walk from the stadium). As you know Mike, Folsom sits underground some so its' hard to say what it's like on the field but it's windy.
uh oh, ball loose....WVU.
edit: under review

WVU has to take advantage of the turnovers. Colorado is running all over them thus far.

CU's blown a couple ops to make this at least a 2 score game. which given that 1. WVU gets the ball to start the half and 2. White's "go the distance" factor is big IMO. or could have been big.

At which point Colorado QB fumbles the ball. Now instead of being 21-7 Colorado, it is just 14-7.
Damnit.
Heh. Not to mention, didn't your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate go to CU? :D

be interested to see if Scott gets more totes this half. maybe Stewart is just the better option out of the gun and these formations.

West Virginia is very poorly coached.
I know they got the 1st down, but going for it on 4th and 1 by Dan Hawkins was absolutely retarded. If I were CU's AD, I would have fired the guy on the spot for that. West Virginia having a lot of problems on short yardage.

WVU shouldn't throw a pass the rest of the game.

GO BUFFS
WV is going old-school to good effect, CU needs to get their D off the field with a long drive.

for all the Hawk/Boise mojo/Helfrich (OC) is an "ahead of the curve guy"...playcalling weirdly conservative at times if not completely nonsensical.
two possessions in a row where they throw to a guy short of the marker on 3rd down and don't convert. he gives his guys a chance to make a play on the first down with the throw/drop to McKnight. and goes in the shell. call the same play again...McKnight is WIDE open. give your guys a chance to win. that's Hawk whole rah rah huzzah.
another personal foul for WVU. this is like a John Blake team. getting fired up really means brainless drive sustaining (for the opponent) or drive killing (for your guys) personal fouls.

Tied as we go to the 4th. WVU isn't going to win this game if they don't get the ball downfield. This playcalling is brutal. 6-8 passing for 19 yards for Pat White? Ridiculous. That's why they struggle in short yardage and why they've been so pitiful today on 3rd downs.
How many penalty yards does WVU have today? Gotta be around 100. This is a very poorly coached team. Bill Stewart looking like a terrible hire. Maybe the worst thing ever to happen to WVU was winning the BCS game last year.

Playaction, fake the end around out of your own end zone?? Are you fucking kidding me??
I'd be calling for Stewart's head after this game if I gave a crap about WVU!

White is still a WR playing QB. Apart from that 18 yard pass right before the TD, you can see why he doesn't pass much.
Devine has had a long road...good to see him finally doing something. The block he threw on the DE in the first half was awesome.
What is this - the Facemask Bowl?

You'll have to excuse me, I'm in a bit of a pissy mood (god that sounds like a chick!) because I can't go to the Iowa game since I can't find a fucking flight. I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully one of these coaches will get fired so that I'll feel better!

Wow, nice clock management Coach Stewart. That is unbelieveable. This is one of the worst coached games ever and I'm not kidding. 2nd poorly coached game by Stewart already this year. Going to be a long couple of years for WVU until they fire the guy.

Bill Stewart = Bill Doba (old long time career assistant given reigns to top ten program only to run it into the ground.) See you espn's bottom ten soon, WVU.

Sorry for going AWOL there. I was glued to the TV. Good win for the Buffs. Ugly, but I'll take it. That was one I had penciled in as a loss. Buffs may very well be ranked heading down to Jacksonville...
BTW, I agree with Jon - very poorly coached game by Stewart.

Erin Andrews described the WVU 2nd half sideline as "mass confusion". Stewart in WAY over his head, looks like, to state the obvious.
Not sure about the Buffs being ranked. That's a game they should have won by 10 points in regulation against a team that is clearly off the rails (no matter how talented White and Devine). Being the national TV game might give em a boost.

Actually, I think CU is more likely to be ranked had that game NOT been on national TV. Had people not seen the game, they would just have seen it as a Colorado team beating a ranked opponent and not what it really was.
Erin Andrews looked hot as always, by the way!
Have any of you actually seen her up close? I sat right near her at the Iowa-Michigan State basketball game 2 years ago and then got right up next to her after we stormed the floor. She is very thin. Sexy, but a lot thinner in person than she looks on TV. She has a nice rack for sure. Sexy voice too!

well, part of my theory is that sports writers on the east coast can pencil in the Buffs under the rubric that they did beat a ranked team on TV and pass out from a day of boozing in front of the TV or sadly trying to chat up bar maids at the local sports themed watering hole ("you know who i am..." slurringly)... before the late games are over.
by Saturday night no one will remember all the penalties, turnovers*, or that CU didn't score a point in the last 3 quarters and only drove the field once....after ESPN hammering away with the same 5 highlights all Saturday afternoon. they'll be a tidy CU-WVU highlight package that will show Hawkins two TD passes, a sackful of White and Devine runs....and the two FG attempts in OT.
or: they might dogpile Stewart relentlessly. hard to know.
*Cody, hold on to the ball when you get sacked.

Not true. I will because those penalties fucked me over. Took WVU -2.5 in my Pick 6. I wanna fight Bill Stewart right now..... If I lose by 1 game at the end of the year, I'm gonna square up with that sumbitch!

I doubt most sports writers would have the courage to speak to women even while intoxicated. Have you seen or spoken to these losers? I got to know quite a few of these d-bags when this was what I actually pursued and I've never met a bigger group of arrogant losers that couldn't get laid if they crawled up a chicken's ass. Don't even get me started on what "working" with Jay Mariotti is like and what his colleagues think of him!! I can promise you that you would never meet a bigger loser than Mariotti.

fair enough, I guess. but, while not a journalist myself, keep in mind i do work in a School of Journalism and Mass Communications...so, I'm keenly aware of the "typologies" of those who enter into and succeed in sports writing. I've got a couple former students who work in Denver media and they couldn't be more vacuous as students, people or let alone "analysts".
My example above is generalization of a few times I spent at a Capital Hill bar in Denver where my buddy used to tend (late 90's)...one of the local sports radio guys who is about the biggest doofus ever...would come in on the weekends and try and conspicuously "hold court" or something. It was embarrassing to watch since the guy is a hamheaded moron on and off the air who makes sure and remind everyone on planet earth he went to the Cuse J-School ("you know where all the ESPN guys went, too"). It was pitiful to watch. Literally, the joke was on him and EVERYBODY in the bar (working there, regulars, passersby) were in on it but him.
I guess Mariotti used to work in Denver early in his career because no one (no one) has anything good to say about the guy.
