no way georgia or USC should still be in top 10, usc no way in top 15.

Tejas is the only one who can truly control their own destiny.

Vs OU
Vs MU back to back weeks.

they win both and win out, and NO ONE jumps in front of them, and has a better resume. 2 wins vs top 3 teams.

I agree with the AP poll more than the coaches'...I'd switch Penn State and Texas around though.

Will have to see them play an actual football team first.
it's not my fault the pussies from SEC won't play the Mid Majors best. ducking them for the Sun Belt teams or Conference USA.

It's joke that USC stayed ahead of both Florida and Georgia.

I'm surprised also that Alabama moved ahead of both Mizzou and Texas, though it's not undeserved.

And Penn St. all the way up to 6th and ahead of BYU doesn't make much sense either.

Oh well... as has been said all along, polls at this point are pretty meaningless, other than to give folks something to argue about.

Again - who has BYU played?

they have 2 wins over BCS schools. its not their fault the BCS schools they scheduled years in advance became shitty. but unlike Auburn(3-2 over miss st, 14-12 over tenn, buwahaha) and others, they took care of business. I realize NO One from the south knows where exactly BYU is and where they play, but leaving the state lines is ok. scheduling la monroe, tulane, so louisana, etc yearly are pretty weak.

how about playing a mtn west conference team, wac team. you know some OOC teams who can play ball.

Mizzou's timing in playing Texas is a significant reason I can see you guys running the board. Coming off the RRS I doubt you see the horn A-game and their A-game is likely what it will take to win.

By the way, while it won't last once the teams play each-other I gotta play Big12 Ballsucking Homer and prop the 12 for having four in the top10 and six in the top25.

i think i seen a stat, where tejas hasnt lost a home game after the RRS. ever. not sure, but read something about it ona tejas paper. maybe a big12 home game. but they are very good off the game, win or lose.

got to agree here...maybe not compete week in and week out (due to the meatgrinder characteristics of the SEC) but one game, BYU could stay with anybody in the country....I've seen them twice and this BYU team is not Hawaii of 2007, these dudes can actually play

they've also got Boise State at #6, which pleases me greatly, but in reality is simply ridiculous

BYU doesn't stay within 1 score with Auburn.

I was with you until here.

BYU beats Vanderbilt, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Miss. State, Arkansas, and Ole Miss (if they don't play like they did against Florida).

Fucking sellout.

It's too early for me to worry about where PSU is ranked...but 6th is probably too high at this point. Again...this past Saturday was the most adversity they've faced so far. Major tests await them. I'd probably place them #10 or so...

Re: Coaches Poll 9/28/08

PSU's ranking is deserved at this point. When looking at a team's ranking, it's not just about what they've done, but what the other teams have done around them. You can say PSU doesn't deserve #6, but the question becomes "if not PSU, then who?"

- Taco Tech has beaten nobody.
- BYU looks tough but zero wins vs ranked teams.
- USC's loss was likely a fluke, but still, too big of a blemish to justify being ranked ahead of an undefeated PSU.
- South Florida, you might make a case for them. Undefeated and a win over a quality KU team.
- Gerorgia is still a quality football team but getting trounced at home is too damaging

So when you really look at it, PSU is probably where they should be. You can't make a real strong case for anybody jumping them at this point.

Who the hell has Missouri beat ???

A 2-2 Illini team ???

That's what you get when you play "cupcakes" and you don't have SEC next to your name.

BYU doesn't stay within 2 scores with Alabama, LSU, Georgia, or Florida.
What makes you think that? How many upsets is it going to take in the CFB world for people to realize just about anybody can beat anybody? And I don't necessarily mean on an "any given Saturday" basis either. Predictions are one thing, but holding such absolute certainty makes you look arrogant and foolish...especially as it relates to a top 10 team in BYU. Ole Miss certainly proved they could "stay within 2 scores" of UF, eh? Why not BYU?

Yeah, yeah, I know...Ole Miss would finish in the top 2 of any conference outside the SEC.

BYU isn't some Sun Belt johnny come lately. They've had a solid program for years, and were nationally dominant at one point. They recruit well. You have no basis for your claim other than just typical SEC bravado.

Oregon State has beaten U$C 2 of the last 3 times they've played..... you fucking idiot.

While I consider mtool a gnat round these parts, he still knows a thing or two about CFB aside from the names of his QB, RB and maybe a WR or two.

Well, they were good in those games. No shame in admitting what's currently evident.

You form opinions as the season moves along, and when teams win/lose you re-evaluate said opinions. Isn't that how this is all supposed to work?
