30-14 14:23 to go. scU-M is a turnover factory for the second consecutive week and Juice Williams and Co. are breaking big play after big play on that scU-M JV caliber defense.
God bless watching Big 11 football in ACC country. I should probably be watching FSU-U right now, much more competitive game.
Edit: Pathetic that scU-M is not 0-2 in the league right now. Wisconsin should be ashamed of itself.

What aggrevates me is that they still struggle against a spread offense even with the spread being used by their offense and with defensive coordinator that had to scheme against the speed and athleticism of the Pac-10 when he was at Stanford. They had a rough first half against Utah's spread and Illinois' spread really gave them fits today. They played a solid first half but faded in the second half...pretty much a mirror opposite of last week. The turnovers reared their ugly head in the second half and this time, the Illini did what the Badgers couldn't do...punish them for their mistakes and turn those into points.
This team is going to have problems with schemes going forward...not necessarily playing better opposition. Ohio State with Pryor and Penn State with Clark will probably lay the wood to them just like Juice did today. Meanwhile, a team like State...who plays a similar style to Wisconsin...is someone the Wolverines can hang with right now. It also boils down to being able to hang onto the ball as well. They hung in the first half because they moved the ball and didn't turn it over. Punting it away and giving the other team a longer field to work with is way better than fumbling the ball in your end of the field and putting the pressure on your defense to stop them.
They're a work in progress, to say the least...

the defense is hardly jv. i don't know what you expect from a unit that has to play about 45 minutes a game.

There's been some comparisons on this board of Michigan to Nebraska. Michigan, on one hand, having a legitimate coach leading the program previously, seems to actually have some decent talent on the defensive side of the ball. The Corn, on the other hand, have absolutely nothing in the cupboard thanks to one B.C.

I don't know who said that but I wouldn't compare those two situations in particular. Plus, Pelini hasn't been a head coach...RichRod came from a top 10-15 program. Michigan is in a transition period while Nebraska is just trying to move back to where they were with Osborne and even Solich to a lesser extent. Michigan under Rodriguez is a completely new identity for the program.
This situation with Michigan might be closer to what Nebraska was when Solich left and Callahan tried to be the WC offense to Lincoln. He came in with a foreign system and could never get "his guys" in to make it work and it ended up being a huge failure. The Cornhuskers are a ground and pound team.
I have a little more confidence in Rodriguez bringing in the spread because all they really need is the right QB because they have the dynamic athletes at the other positions...they just don't have the right "point guard" right now. The offensive line needs work but I'll chalk that up to inexperience more than anything. Michigan has been stuck in the stone age with the slow pocket QB and little creativity in their playcalling. I think it was about time they moved into the 21st century with this hire. I look forward to seeing a dynamic duel-threat QB in Ann Arbor.

Mich will likely finish with a similar regular-season record but I'd say they are closer than Neb. Mich has talent, it is just very young right now. They also have an experience HC, Bo is learning the ropes. Mich will be a different team in '09. We'll be improved but won't be making waves for a while.
