We took the train from downtown Chicago straight to Ryan Field and the surrounding campus. We got there a couple hours before kickoff so we dinked around the stadium for awhile. Getting off the train and walking towad the campus we passed this murky looking river which seemed to have a bit of a Spartan green tinge to it. I think that was a good sign.



Grabbed some lunch at this little hotdog joint - Mustard's Last Stand - a campus classic.



It was hot as balls inside this place.



Some bar near campus, packed with MSU fans. I squeamishly threw down for a four dollar Budweiser, and it was the only alcohol I would consume that afternoon. My only regret was not buying beer before we got to Evanston as there were no liquor stores around.



Outside the stadium now, and time to head in pretty soon.

To my right...it was a very good turnout for a Northwestern game. Usually they only "pack" the stadium for Michigan and Ohio St.

N'western started most of their drives pinned deep. MSU totally crushed them on special teams plays all day.

Well done, Mgo...props to your guys on winning the game. Sets up for quite the showdown on Saturday at Spartan Stadium with the Buckeyes.

Nice PET. I haven't been to Evanston in many years. Is the press box and upper deck new? I don't remember either and they never show a shot of it on tv, probably because of the empty seats.

RACK the PET. Looks like a good place to see a game.

Did you read the Jonsense™ For Dummies book and buy a nosebleeder end zone ticket and keep moving down to the better seats? You don't have to be "cheap" to do that. You just have to go with other guys and claim how "cheap" they are. Don't forget to sneak some liquor in. Use plastic bottles in case they have a metal detector. It doesn't just make sense.
