USC at #4 in USA Today poll

Playing in the weakest BCS conference and having lost to one of its lesser lights, it is incomprehensible for them to be ranked this high. I hope that Penn State and Texas both win out so we can watch the BCS put USC and the one-loss SEC champ in their title game. Fucking hell.

Just wondering.
Oklahoma State for starters. Undefeated in the best conference, and you can no longer go to the “who have they beaten” card.

Texas Tech, also from the best conference, is still unbeaten. No quality wins but they still haven’t lost a game they should have won (‘sup USC).

I think Georgia’s a better one-loss team, and their loss came against #2 in the country, not #6 in their own shitty conference (‘sup USC).

Oklahoma’s a better one-loss team, their only loss came against #1.

I’d have USC tied for eighth with Florida.

USC has to lose to a Pac 10 team cause none of the other conferences can produce a team that can beat the Trojans. Neutral site bowl game on grass, month to prepare for both teams, USC can beat any team in the top 10 and make the score ugly.

1. Bama
2. Texas
3. Penn State
4. USC
5. Oklahoma
6. Florida
7. Okie State
8. Texas Tech
9. Ohio State
10. LSU

none of those teams "worked" the Trojans, Texas beat USC 4 seasons ago but I doubt youll find even a Texas fan that will say they "Worked" USC. They will certainly beat Missouri and that Dildo Baggins hobbit they have for a QB more than they beat USC by in the Rose Bowl 4 seasons ago.

What?

Why does USC have to lose to a PAC 10 team again?

The logic escapes me.
4. USC
5. Oklahoma
Nevermind the above question about logic. Ranking OU, who lost to a top 5 team, below USC, who lost to an unranked scrub, means you don't have the faculty of logic.

Wait, didn't you assholes have a team last year on grass, in your own crib as a 40 point favorite and lay an egg? You fuckers make such a big deal about traveling across the country to play anyone, and handle the "HOSTILE" crowd, meanwhile you go to Oregon State who hasn't done anything ever and lay an egg. Quit with your fucked up logic and we'll beat any team in the top 10 on our terms bullshit. Your team's problem is that you can't get out of your own weak ass conference without a loss. You want a month to prepare? Well didn't you have a week and a half to prepare for Oregon State? Give it a rest. Your logic is like a porn star...it just sucks. You lost to an unrakned team that sucks ass and now you're trying to rationalize it. Idiot. Why don't you go abuse some more kids.

youre right, they have a hard time getting pumped up for teams theyre favored by so much to beat, doesnt change the fact that they have kicked the shit out of every team from those other conferences that have had the balls to play them the last 6 years and will continue to do so, other than the 1 game vs Texas.

Toejam - let me help you out here, bud...

The reason USC loses to more conference teams vs non-conference teams is because...

ready?

wait for it...

BECAUSE YOU PLAY A FUCK OF A LOT MORE CONFERENCE TEAMS.

Holy balls, you're stupid.

That really doesn't add up, bro.

In $C's last 16 games.....

They're 11-5 against the PAC 10.

and 16-0 against teams OOC.

You know, I'd almost say you are troll, given your typing and grammar skills. You are sort of like a calm, USC-cheering frodo bigguns. Of course, you probably have no idea (wtf) what the fuck (hey I'm here to help) I'm talking about, especially given I'm typing in complete sentences, using grammar and actual punctuation.

Nevermind.

The point of this thread is that your overrated team, which LOST, to an UNRANKED Oregon State team, is once again over-ranked, big-time.

They are being rewarded for playing shit teams, in a shit conference THIS YEAR, you fucking tard.

I didn't think it would take a genius to figure out that I meant the last 16 games against PAC 10 teams and the "last" 16 games against out of conference teams.

Since it couldn't be $C's last 32 games. They only play four OOC games a year.

But, I am dealing with "Midwesterners".

Say what you mean, you gibbering fucktard. You might want to take an ESL course, because English is not working out all that well as your primary language.

I thought they only played 3 OOC games a year? If you’re including bowl games, they lost to Texas in 2006 which would shoot your 16-0.

Ole Miss has won 3 games this year, Memphis State and Samford in Oxford and vs Florida in Gainesville, thats easily as bad of if not worse than the loss at Oregon State on Thursday night

You're ok with Florida sitting at 7 having lost at home to a team that has yet to beat any other BCS conf team but not OK with USC, who has more OOC wins vs Top 15 teams than all of the SEC and Big 12 teams have combined for, sitting at 4?

I have USC and Florida pretty much even at #8. But look for USC to be right around #4 when the BCS Beauty Pageant begins next week.

And they're once again the betting favorite for the BCS Championship from what I've seen. http://www.wsex.com/

So in less than 3 weeks they've gone from getting "Quizzed" all over their face by the Beavers, to back to the betting favorites. Last year's streak of number 2 teams getting beaten thinks that's jacked up.

If Florida played like they did against LSU - yeah - they'd beat USC.

Is this a good year for the Pac10?

There's that word again...if.....

I'll let you know what I think about the Pac 10 after bow(e)l season....

Ucla is rebuilding after the Dorrell debacle, Stanford is improving under Harbaugh, Willingham is out at Udub, Wash St IS an embarrassment, Cal isn't bad, Oregon has had QB issues, the Arizonas are average at best, Oregon St. did beat SuC, so.....as of this moment it would appear that this season is not the one I or any other Pac dweller will offer as collateral in the "my conference is better than your conference" eternal debate....

Just make sure teams from your conference don't lose to a shitty Pac 10 team in a couple months...bode and all that it is....

It almost seems like Florida is too talented and just not a good enough "football team." If that's even possible. They've been accused by some as having a lack of chemistry. I really don't know about that, but what else explains a loss to Ole Freaking Miss? Teams that are all there mentally don't typically lose games like that.

UF is very good but it doesn't quite seem like they have the make-up of a MNC-caliber team. Then again, nobody thought so 2 years ago either and we know how that turned out...

If a top-ranked SEC team loses to a conference bottom-dweller, it means the SEC is just that good.

If a top-ranked PAC team loses to an unranked conference opponent... it means the PAC is horrrrrrible.

Because the Southeastern United States is known for their vast intelligence, logic, and dentistry.

BTW -- it's not that I don't hate them... I do. But allow me to actually interject some accuracy here, just for kicks --

Oregon State:

2008: 3-3 (after Riley's signature slow start)
2007: 9-4
2006: 10-4 (and we're still trying to figure out where the extra game came from)
2005: 5-6
2004: 7-5
2003: 8-5
2002: 8-5

They've been averaging 8 wins a year over the previous 6 seasons. Hardly makes them some traditional "patsy."

And hello? PAC teams see Petey's squad every year. Petey rarel;y changes too many elements of their scheme (why would he?). Riley is a very good schemer if he has enough chances to prepare. He's been "preparing" for USC for quite a few years now.

And I think I might understand Riley's shortcoming that leads to the annual slow start -- if you watch OS enough, you begin to realize how complicated their blocking schemes are, and that they have a whole lot of different looks and formations on offense. Seems to me that it's too complicated to really hone early in the season. If he'd simplify things for the first few games, and gradually bring in more looks as the season prgressed, they'd have more early success, imo.

But instead, they get beatdowns in the early season, which allows us Good, Pure People to laugh at those people.
