The way they are playing right now they should be able to.

As much as I dislike them, seeing Meyer call those timeouts at the end was pretty funny.

Nike is trying to bankroll a playoff, Hopefully a few teams get fucked out of a chance at the title this year and it is enough to push the conferences towards accepting a playoff.
However a playoff would have to force teams to play balanced schedules to have justifiability

No - I've just actually watched their last few games. I'd love to see TT/Florida. I don't know if TT would be able to handle the defensive speed. Texas sure as fuck isn't showing it in the first half.
I never said anything about TTech.

UF is hot right now, too bad they stepped on their dick vs. Ole Miss.

I'll agree that Florida seems to have turned up up a few notches.

A great football team does that in August, and maintains that throughout the season.

At any rate, my guess is that PSU and Florida will meet in the Big One.

I could not agree with this more. If there is to be any kind of playoff system, balanced schedules are a must.
No bullshit schedules like, hmmm, LSU's this year with 8 home games and 4 road. They are currently in the middle of a stretch of 5 home games in a row. Ya, I know part of this is due to the hurricane in September and "only would have been 4, so save it.

what makes you think Moody would get any PT if he was still at USC? He played a lot his freshman year cause everyone else was injured.

Do you honestly think USC wouldnt Boat Race Alabama right off the field? Neutral field in any bowl game USC would be a 10 point favorite over every team out there but Florida

Trojans would win by 20 points, minimum

alright, perhaps if the game was in Birmingham on a Thursday night and the Trojans were forced to fly in to town the day of the game, bama might keep it closer than 20.
A month to prepare, neutral site, USC wins by 20+

IF UF doesn't get in they will have nobody to blame but themselves. They would've controlled their own destiny, but instead, are on the outside looking in because they couldn't beat a very average conference foe. Bad losses are just as telling as good wins and shouldn't be conveniently swept under the rug.

No way a one point conference loss should leave a 12-1 Gator team behind an undefeated Penn State in the BCS.
I haven't seen the argument that a one loss team should jump an undefeated PSU made successfully.

The week that Florida lost to an opponent, PSU defeated an opponent.

RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, UF looks pretty strong. Should a rank reflect THIS MOMENT, or what has happened over the course of the season?

We don't reward losses over wins, do we? Should we? The Big 10 is not the Mountain West, WAC or even Big East or ACC. If UM and tOSU are "down", why does that mean the conference overall is down? Minnesota has greatly improved this year. Penn State has greatly improved this year. tOSU is certainly at least "good". UM is definitely down...but hell, I would love to see them play a b12 or SEC or Pac 10 team right now, I doubt they'd get blown away.

UF is definitely improved. Since we don't have a playoff to match these teams up, we HAVE to rely on the Win over the Loss as a major component of the evaluation, right?

Remember the argument against Larry Johnson Jr.'s Heisman bid was that he didn't get his numbers against the better teams. This is similar. UF isn't going to jump an undefeated PSU because they didn't get the win over Ole Miss. Larry Johnson might have won the Heisman if the sole evaluator was the Illinois game where he was over 300 yards. UF might win the MNC if the sole evaluator is the win over Georgia. Unfortunately for both, there were points where they did not deserve the Heisman and the MNC, respectively.

If Florida wins out and so does PSU, then that means Alabama will have been defeated.

All that remains is what happens with Texas Tech.

Once again, here is my prediction:

PSU wins out.
Florida wins out.
Texas Tech finishes with 2 losses.

PSU/UF play for the MNC this year.

As for the PSU/Bama series...sure looks like the games might be good ones. That didn't seem like it would be the case a few years ago!

The couple points I will make for this argument...

1) There is still what 3 regular season weeks and CCG's for the 12, SEC, and ACC...so lots of ball left to be played
2) Why is the transitive property so in vogue with SEC BSH? tOSU went to 2 MNC games (1 of which they did not deserve to get to but everyone stepped on their dick the last 2 weeks of the season)...and tOSU got beat so that means PSU will get beat or is not very good. Why is that? That is the transitive property at its finest...due to the last two years with OSU...no way PSU could do it...PSU is a DIFFERENT TEAM and it is THIS YEAR...last year has no bearing on this year...
3) UF does look awesome right now...but does that mean UGA was way overrated? They beat a below average ASU team...yeah they smoked LSU...but got ROLLED up tOSU style in the Bama and UF games...so UGA wasn't even competitive in the UF game...so UF gets more props based on UGA's higher ranking???
4) To me, the SEC isn't as strong this year and NO ONE wants to come off of that ledge...they all still point to LSU, UGA, etc...well news flash...LSU is not very good, UGA is not very good...AU was overrated, Vandy came crashing to earth...Tenn STINKS, etc...so why will no one come off the meat grinder thought? Perhaps the Big 10 is improved even though people continue to say the Big 10 is down...Northwestern is every bit as good as Vandy and perhaps better...Minny has improved...MSU has only 2 losses Cal and tOSU...and is playing decent football...so why do people continually harp on that?

Just some thoughts...my rooting interest is squarely behind PSU right now...to get to the MNC game and winning it...

Texas Tech has an extremely impressive win now. Their next two games look pretty darn difficult. If they get through them undefeated, then I will have to say that they deserve to be above PSU.

Bottom line for PSU? Winning out and one (just one!) loss from Bama or TT will basically ensure their participation in the title game.

Why hasn't the plunger raping Oklahoma has taken in BCS bowls 3 of the last 4 years had as negative of an effect on the nnational persona of the Big 12 as Ohio States beatings in the last 2 years has been on the Big 11?
Oklahoma gave up 43 points to Boise and 48 to a Big East team for fucks sake
