How the hell do you call a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty on a guy who high fives a fan in the corner of the endzone after scoring a TD?

No my sons play Pop Warner, their games were this morning. The younger sons team that I help coach won 54-0, the older sons team won 25-12.

In this event the guy gets to the end zone, his momentum carried him through the end zone to the corner of the stadium where the Thundering Herd sits, he slapped hands with one fan turned around handed the ball to the ref and ran back to his side line. the ref called him for unsportsmanlike conduct, was probably the same ref that flagged Locker in the U Dub- BYU game

Your anger is misplaced. Get upset at the coaches and not the officials. Again the coaches write the rules. Officials will call what they are told. High fives with fans in the stands is an auto 15.

Next.

With all due respect it's not quite as easy as that. I saw that particular play and the ensuing action that drew the flag. What a joke that flag was. If that's what the officials are "told" to call, then fine. It would be one thing if the officiating crews were consistant, but they're not. Not even close. I'm convinced that another official in another crew would have left his flag tucked into his belt. These teams have no idea how their games are gonna be called from one to the next.

That unsportsmanlike rule needs to be shit-canned and they need to write a new one from scratch...and they can take out all the bullshit like a quick high five or a ball tossed up in the air after a TD with a couple of seconds left in the game.

It is as easy as that. This wasn't a game-breaking call like the Locker play. This was in the middle of a fucking cakewalk. Bad time to take up for Schmick.

what does the score have to do with officiating? My sons team was up big int he third quarter on Yorba Linda 3 weeks ago and the Refs started calling all these unsportsmanlike and uneccesary roughness penalties and Yorbal Linda got to the red zone. My kids had worked on 17 quarters of shut out football and its not the refs job to make a 68-0 game more competitive, for fucks sake they high fived each other after forcing a 5 yard loss on 3rd down and they called them for unsportsmanlike. CJ Gables momentum carried him to the corner of the stands, a fan slaps his helmet and he high fives another, was no showing up the Huskies, that call was unjustified.

Nobody gives a flying fuck about the welfare of you, your family or anyone associated with you. Simple as fucking that. Go try extracting copper wire from an electrical generator for all I care. Your cries and whines fall on deaf ears.

Shit, maybe your sons team could represent the Pac-10 in a bowl game. Shit the way your bitch ass condoms are playing right now they might give the sperm receptacles a game.

Look, the officials don't like calling those ticky tack fouls either, but if we don't we get down graded and soon we won't be making any calls.

This is akin to angry customer taking it out on lowly company representative for a stupid policy that was created by the corporate division. Misplaced anger, indeed.

Tell ya what, If USC loses to Notre Dame, i leave this board and never come back, if Notre Dame loses, you leave and never come back. Got the balls to support those cunts from Indiana or not?

Taking up for Schmick? Ok, if you say so...I really don't care. My post was in response to Left Seater.

Why would I make a bet that stupid? $UC will beat ND by at least 14 points. I'll support them all year long but to refer to them as cunts just shows your immaturity. I can see it now....half time at Jr. Schmucks pop warner football game.....
Dad Schmuck: "Ok you little fuckers, listen up. Those guys over there are cunts. Now quit pussy footing around. We're only up 50-0 and it's imperative we kick their asses. Now remember this matters. They're a bunch of cunts now go out and score another 50 on those poor bastards. Rub their noses in it because I'm the greatest coach in Pop Warner football and it's important for me to live vicariously through you."

Little Schmuch: Dad, can you take my championship trophy off your desk at work and give it back to me?
Dad: shut up you little cunt.....I earned that trophy. It's all about me not you little fuckers.

I've got another idea......to quote Motley Crue...."Don't go away mad, just go away."

I'd rather support a group of cunts (as you call them) then some of the shit you have in your program. Most noteably.......you.

Because he's so god damn insecure about himself so he needs to live vicariously through a criminal group posing as a football team, then coaches little kids and bitches at those refs because the pac-10 refs can't hear him. Not that anyone listens to him............

Greg,

If we don't call that it is an auto downgrade. Again, I don't agree with that play which I saw the replay of, but I can't officiate based on the rulings I agree with and those that I don't.

Schmick,

Score has a huge way on how games are called at the youth level. If a youth team is killing another youth team and the coaches don't pull the starters and are clearly trying to run up the score, then look for more flags against that team. If the coach doesn't have the class to back off the gas, then the officials will do it for him.

No one needs to win by 60 with their starters still in the game.

Note to all,

This doesn't apply to college or HS games. Don't want to get killed, get better.

The game should be called the same no matter what the score is, regardless of the level of play.

We only have 3 MP kids left on the team and they had all nearly doubled their minimum number of plays. Dont blame the coach of the winning team for the failures of the losing team, its our job to prepare opur kids to be the best and the best give full effort from snap to whistle on every play.
The kids break every Friday practice with a "ITS NOT WORTH WINNING IF YOU DONT WIN BIG" chant and start every half of football games with a "WIN FOREVER" chant.

As long as refs don't call a fair game I will call them for it, if they want to cheat expect to be called for cheating. If my defense makes a good stick and get up and high five eachother instead of helping the enemy off the ground, its not unsportsmanlike conduct, its hard nosed football. Refs should be video graded after each game and if they make or miss a certain amount of calls, they should be fired and replaced with more competent refs.

None of the trophies won by any of the treams I have coached for either son are outside of each sons trophy case in the den, the only thing in my office are the team pictures and one banner that says 28-0 from the baseball team last spring

Yeah, lets see video review of each youth league official after every game. You just doubled the cost of participation for every player, and sponsor. Further, you will never have enough officials to call a game if you triple the time they have to give each week, for a few bucks.

Now, what you described is not a penalty, but if your youth league starters are still in a game in the 4th quarter and are winning by a huge margin, then they had better be perfect or we are going to call each and every foul no matter how marginal. Futher, anything close to the sideline is going to be in bounds instead of out of bounds. Kids don't learn anything differently from winning 49-0 or 63-0. All it shows is a lack of class of the coaching staff. Now if the backups are killing the other team then so be it, but starters in late in a blow out will get the microscope.

we cut our team down to 19 players and sent who would have been the MP kids to the D2 team, we have no choice but to play our starters.

Hey asshat, it's youth football.....the other team is not the enemy. They're a bunch of little kids who just want to play the game for fun. Wait until high school to take it seriously....oh wait, statistically none of them are going to play past high school anyway. Way to fuck it up for them. Now we have a bunch of type A personality kids running around thinking winning is the only thing. How about teaching character and some of the other values sports have to offer.
The kids break every Friday practice with a "ITS NOT WORTH WINNING IF YOU DONT WIN BIG" chant and start every half of football games with a "WIN FOREVER" chant.
This is where you and the other parents on the team have serious issues. How about winning with class? It's a shame that you actually influence these kids because they're going to grow up and be severely dissappointed the first time things don't go their way.

None of the trophies won by any of the treams I have coached for either son are outside of each sons trophy case in the den, the only thing in my office are the team pictures and one banner that says 28-0 from the baseball team last spring

You have trophy cases in your den for your kids? Seriously? Jesus Christ your kids are clones of you and that's a sad thing. Do they kneel in front of their trophies and pray to them before they go to bed every night?
What a fucking lunatic.
