Browser Question HELP

I am checking out a friend's computer. She uses Netscape and wants to use internet Explorer.

Problem is.. Netscape allows browsing IE doesn't.

I have checked LAN settings and connection and all appear okay.

Please recommend..

So you can browse websites and shiite with Netscape but not IE???

How 'bout a firewall? Does she have one? Maybe it's not permitting IE access.

She had a Firewall through McAfee and not the windows XP Firewall!!

Even if she's using the very latest Netscape, you should encourage her to use Firefox. Netscape still apparently is threaded through with ad bullshit. Netscape's engine is taken from the same codebase, but that codebase has already been updated a number of times, whereas with Netscape, it's just sitting there...

Are we taking bets on how soon she'll be asking for Jack to switch her back to Netscape? I'm thinking 5 weeks before her computer is so infested with viruses and adware she'll be begging him for something better.

If you use IE, it's not a bad idea to install WinPatrol.

While you're at it, chop the "-file-373.html" off that URL, and check out the DL page. Cool stuff on there, including a utility to fix the damage that Kazaa does.

Highly recommended page.
