Steelers Fans Force Redskins Into Silent Count???

Post by BSmack »

Wow, and I always thought Skins fans were some of the most diehard in the NFL. Score another win for Steeler Nation both on the field and in the stands.

This is pretty explainable for a number of reasons:

1) Nobody wants to live in Shittsburgh anymore. No jobs, shitty weather, etc. So during the 80s after the mills dried up, many moved to the metro DC area. So when the Stillers actually come to play once every 15 years, Stiller fans are willing to pay a premium to see them play.

2) There are WAY too many seats at the stadium formerly known as Jack Kent Cook Stadium. The Cook family built it with 78k. Danny Boy wanted to make more money, so he added 14k, many with obstructed views, without expanding the infrastructure of the stadium (bathrooms, entrances to stadium, etc). With the addition of StubHub, many many more tickets are accessible to a city only 4 hrs away and to visiting fans who live in the area.

3) In continuation of the stadium, there are many people who feel the stadium is a horrible experience, especially weeknight games. Horrible location: Out in Landover (which is a shithole, but still a better place to live than Madison), horrible traffic, people going back to VA and NW MD report coming home around 1:30a-2a, and many people are disenfranchised with the number of drunken fucks who take over the stadium for night games (search Dead Tree Crew on YouTube), horrible public transportation options (takes 30 min to walk from Morgan Blvd to the stadium), the long lines at the gate to enter the stadium (which, of course, if you're willing to pay an extra $200 per season, you can use the "Flo" lanes, which grant you "premier access" to the stadium.

There are many many other reasons, including Steeler fans take over every stadium because no one lives in that shithole anymore, but that's a significant jist of what went on. The NFL trying to crack down on visiting fans getting their faces smashed in has a lot to do with it as well. AND, the story of Skins season tickets (and tickets in general) being impossible to get is incredibly false. Sure, common season tickets are impossible to get. But, you can get tickets IF you're willing to pay premium prices for them..in advance...so Danny can collect on the interest.
