I was just going to ignore this, but consider me trolled. I more or less try and engage in reasonable discussion, debate, and provide some humor here and there. I do my best to be respectful, author posts as if I am speaking to the person directly across from me. While I'm not perfect, I rarely engage in vitriolic name calling, insults, ridicule or what many of you describe of as "smack". Which coincidentally appears to me to be "sniping" and "condescension" and something you're quite adept at.

Was that final statement a snipe ? No it was not. I stand by that statement. It wasn't cloaked in anything. I expressed my opinion on the piece. Powerful, moving, patriotic, and gives a sense of unity. Then I wondered why we only see that from those folks when they win. I am stating my opinion formed by observing events that have transpired in my adult life.

Growing up playing sports I was always raised to win and lose with dignity and class. I value that. It's a standard I respect and try - albeit sometimes I fail - to uphold. I'm not "bitter" about Obama's victory. I am hopeful, yet wary. I can't deny the magnitude of what occurred and that it is a testimony to this great nation of ours we call home. It's beautiful.

So was the victory of "rule of law" in 2000. I didn't see anyone celebrating that on the losing side.
So was John Kerry's noble concession in 2004, I didn't see anyone celebrating and joining hands in celebration.

If you have a different perception of those events, and draw a different conclusion that me. I respect that. My intent was not to condescend but to observe and comment. I really, really, wish we could have been more unified over the past eight years. Somehow I think our situation wouldn't be as dire as it is right now if we were.

No amount of insults, ridicule, "smack", or condescending to me will change that. I value Hope, Change, and Unity just as much as those who have won the election. So do Republicans. They just don't get painted in that light. I think that's sad.
