An out-of-character move by Al Davis.
And judging by his recent results, that means this is prolly a good thing.
Al hasn't often cut bait so quickly.
Burning a 2nd rounder hurts.
Hall was unfortunately beaten too often and he was unfortunately opening his hole too often.
Funny thing is, as a player, I think he's pretty good.
He was shown to be a BAD FIT as a Raider corner, though, due to Oakland wanting their corners to play press coverage.
Hall is much more suited to lay off a receiver.
If he can get his personal act in order, which might be doubtful, he can be a useful player for somebody who uses him differently, imo.
Going in to the season Oakland's secondary looked REAL good on paper.
As it is, Hall and Huff have both flamed out.
So much for high hopes.
I'm pretty much used to it by now.

I read that Nnamdi and G. Wilson have spoken out publicly AGAINST cutting Hall.
Part of cutting Hall was, I think, intended to be a message to guys that there is accountability.
I think the message ... LOUD AND CLEAR ... that Nnamdi and Gerbil got is that the organization is completely FUCKED.
These are easily two of our best and most stable players.
I'm not diggin' the vibe from them both speaking out against the move.

And? Fuck 'em if they dont like Al getting rid of a shitbag cancer like Hall. On his way out, the hirrbly overrated cunt flat out said that he came here for the money.
If Aso and Gerbil want to act like whiny little faggots about it, then they can be shipped for a VERY nice pick or 4 too. Thier "leadership" hasnt accounted for a fucking thing thus far, and im sick of these overpaid losers running thier fucking mouths instead of shutting the fuck up and taking care of business on the field. Fuck 'em. At this point, im fine with Al gashing half the starting defense (inclinding Ryan) to make a point.
Our team fucking disgusts me, and deep changes are needed. Its nice to see Al taking a stand old school style on this new school of pussy player type, and I applaud the move. Al stepping down next would be a great move as well.

Agreed.
When Kiffin was hired it was spoken often of how he had gotten in Al's ear, had made Al realize that the 'culture' of the team needed to change.
As I saw it, Kiffin managed to get things rolling in the right direction.
His team played hard for him and they were getting ... close.
Blame Al, blame Kiffin, whatever, the coaching situation in Oakland once again BLEW UP.
Whatever gains Kiffin made in changing the culture may very well have been lost now since a lame duck has been put in place.
The product on the field has regressed NOTICABLY since Cable Guy took over.
Weeding out the turds in the middle of the season may be the 'right' thing to do, but it's a meltdown.
No way around it.
The room isn't all pulling together.
A lot of 'em are counting days, like a school child, until January, when school is out and they're done with this bullshit.
Oh, and cashing checks in the meantime.
