Here's hoping they do the correct thing and adopt for some rescue organization and don't purchase a designer dog from some mill.

Then when that puppy hits 6 months they need to have a big showing of taking it to be spayed/neutered. This would help set an example in the minority community that spay/nutering is acceptable.

are you saying there needs to be more neutering and spaying going on in minority communities?

That's what I've been hearing they will do.

One minor problem that only recently came out: one of the kids is allergic. That doesn't completely rule out a dog, of course, but it'll have to be hypo-allergenic. Finding one of those at a rescue shelter could be a challenge.

Of course, now that he's about to become President, that could make it an easier task.

terry, you are trying to compare him to a normal family.

As much as you would like to believe that he is just like us, he ain't.

He can have whatever fuggin' dog he wants. And he has at his disposal an army of flunkys to whip that dog into shape. Kinda like them fukkers that gave the cowardly lion a grooming in the wizard of oz. They will also be there to feed, walk and clean up it's shit.

And do you have some idea that AKC mutts are better in some way? Or less likely to cause allergies? Here's a little news flash for you. Muts are generally healthier and genetically superior to purebreeds as they aren't inbred. Outside of alabama, that is.

I never said he was. I only said that finding a hypo-allergenic dog at a rescue shelter is likely to be on par with finding a needle in a haystack. And if one does show up there, it could be gone in short order. Throw in the apparent requirement that the dog be a puppy, and it makes it even harder.

I never said purebreds are better than mutts, as a general rule. But hypo-allergenic dogs usually are bred to be that way.

guess I need to read up on designer dog breeds.

what exactly is a hypo allergenic dog, other than maybe one that's had a good bath or maybe a breed that doesn't shed so much.

i still think that when you got that many house mvscals servants, you can pretty much have whatever pet you want, no matter how bad the allergies are.
