Tress is going to hear about this

tOSU 45 NW 10

With the game secure at 31-10, Tress opted with a fake punt for a 1st down midway in the 4th quarter. Then, Terrelle Pryor tosses a 34 TD bomb before he sits down for the day. No doubt TP's best game performance. Now, bring in Todd Boeckman who attempted a long pass before Herron's 16 yard TD run that made Tress grimace.

Great game for TP and Bernie. Mike Kafka for NW is a stout QB who can play on any team.

My guess is Tress is going to take some heat on this. Not for running up the score but because now he decided to open up the playbook. Let's see if he can do this next week against Illinois. IMO Michigan is still the game.

Bitch move, IMO.

Tressel putting up points late, I guess, in an attempt to get back in the NC discussion. He must enjoy getting raped in front of the world

tOSU should not be criticized for running an offense, even if that happens late in a game they have won. There is no mercy rule.

Take it from a PSU fan...once you get into teaching kids to take the air out of the ball, the danger is that it's hard for them to turn it back on again.

If I'm Tressel, I get TP all the work I can.

I wish Carroll would have ran it up on Kal but it seems he likes Tedford. If it was Oregon or Notre Dame I think Carroll would have tried to punch it in late int he game Bellotti and Weiss dont seem to be guys Carroll likes

what is even more rich about this is FSU fan weighing in that it was a bitch move when FSU routinely ran scores up when they were relevant...

oh well...

When did FSU ever run a fake punt up 3 scores in the 4th?

When did FSU go for the TD instead of kneeling down and winning the game?

Ps. Yes FSU did routinely run it up on OSU.

Right bobby never told his 2nd and 3rd stringers to take a knee right? All those years they whipped up on people by 25-30 points on no that's not running it up...

how convenient you have to go back to 1997...wow you sure have some solid takes there...

it seems that only you and Andre Ware have a problem with this...why don't you go cry with him...

With 15 secs left you take a knee and get out of there...tell me of a time FSU didnt do this....I'll be waiting.

Well you brought up that FSU supposedly did this when we were "relevant"...Is 1997 not when we were relevant? What about those early 1980s beatings we gave y'all in the shoe? Are those not when we were relevant?
it seems that only you and Andre Ware have a problem with this...why don't you go cry with him...
Did I start this thread?

Ps. It was a bitch move that only Tressel, Urban Cryer, or Leech would pull. You take a knee with that much time left. Why risk getting anyone injured on either side of the ball?

Alabama thought the same thing until Prothro happen to them.

Let your 2nd string get playing time and run real plays....good
Fake punts up by 3 tds in the 4th....WTF?
Not running the clock out and risky getting someone on either team injured....retarded

Ps. I agree with this...
They used to tell us in high school that if you don't like the other team running up the score, play some fucking defense.
Up until you can run the clock out and move on to the next game.

N'western are a bunch of dirty little punks on D (since they can't stop anybody). Good for Tressell. Whatever he did I'm sure wasn't enough.

Your crybabyness is showing just a tad much, eh? You obviously haven't watched too many tOSU games under Tressel. Saturday was clearly the exception. Tressel hardly ever runs the score up on anybody. In fact, other than this game I can't remember a time he padded the game.

Did Fitzgerald complain? I sort of doubt it. I suppose I could check...

Why this game? Is NW, one of the worst programs of all-time, one of the buckeyes rivals? Or do they play dirty? Why is an exception for this team?

First of all I didnt start this thread and wouldnt have known anything about this if it werent for bobby. Call me a crybaby if you want but it was a bitch move, even you admitted it was running up the score which is a bitch move unless it is against a hated rival.

What happened had nothing to do with N'Western and had everything to do with the fact that tOSU's offense has been down right abysmal all season and was just coming off its third game this year without scoring an offensive touchdown (2nd at home). One might say that the fake punt was called just so they could run up the score on poor, lowly, #24 ranked Northwestern. I call it getting the offense any and every opportunity to get more reps because they have sucked huge dog ballz most of the year.

The last play of the game was a simple dive middle play and the running back made a great spin to get into the endzone. You obviously didn't see Tressel's reaction on the sideline. He noticeably grimaced and was pissed. Most Buckeye fans I know were pissed that he was pissed!

No, they don't play dirty. Historically under Tressel, tOSU has not put a lot of points on the board against weaker competition. But due to your obvious hate for Ohio State, you went ahead and lumped in Tressel with the likes of guys that do historically run up the score. I've heard Mike Leach admit that he doesn't care what other coaches think about him running up the score, he does it anyways. I guarantee you that Jim Tressel does not share the same philosophy.

Yep, you made your point and I appreciate your comments. I watched the game and was surprised the Buckeyes performed so well; especially midway in the 1st quarter when things seemed to bottle up on them. My very first reaction during the 4th quarter was: "damn...a fake punt, wish we could have saved that for when it counted." However, up to that point NW was able to move the ball on tOSU and their QB had game. I have no problem with our efforts to put the ball into the end zone during the final minutes. Damn, Buckeye offense needed to do that. I hope they can repeat their performance this Saturday. They seem to run hot and cold.

This is truly funny.

You guys score 3 points in 57 minutes.... and you wanted Carroll to run it up on Cal ???

What, were you going to bounce another pass off the turf and call it TD.

Your offense had a better chance of throwing a pick 6 against Cal's defense in the last minute of the game... then getting a "legit" TD.

Delusional is the best way of describing $C fan.

i don't care much for tressell, but it's laughable to say he runs up the score. i doubt he's won many games by more than 40 even though he's had the horses to do so.
