Any avid watchers of this show? Never has there been a better portrayal of dirty cops where you came away thinking these guys aren't that bad, are they? The writing is superb and the way they've come full circle on the past deeds of the Strike Team has made for some intense viewing the past few weeks.
Vic Macky- best cop on tv.

I watched it regularly for a couple of years. Then I sort of lost track. It's still on?

Re: The Shield
It's in it's final season; in fact the final show is Tuesday night. The story is so convaluted so I couldn't try and go into everything that has happened since you last watched. In a nutshell- Shane is on the run for attempting to kill Vic and Gardoki along with other things. (he killed Lem last season) Vic's wife becomes a snitch and tells Claudette (she runs the barn) and Dutch about the shit Vic has done. Vic and Gardoki are trying to find Shane all while Vic is working as an inside guy to a drug cartel operating out of LA and reporting to the Feds. They also have Azcevada's nuts in a vice b/c they are financing his election as mayor of L.A.
This past week Macky got the Feds to offer him a job (he's out as a copy with the LAPD) and asked for total immunity from any prior transgressions (indicating it was minor stuff like drug peddling) in exchange for assisting the Feds in a potentially cartel-breaking drug bust in LA. After he signs the deal they have him in an interrogation room with one of the Fed officers. There is a digital recorder on and Vic is "confessing" his sins with the deal that anything he says that is untruthful could negate the deal.
In a very classic tv moment, a very somber Vic admits to killing the cop from Season 1 (Crowley) along with the other major shit he has done. He implicates Ronnie who he tried to get a simliar deal with but they balked until after the drug bust goes down. He also works in immunity for his wife. The Feds can not believe what he is admitting to and Dutch and Claudette are in a separate room hearing him admit to what he did incredulous that he has full immunity.
In the final scene of this week's show, the Fed who took his statement knows her career is fucked based on what Vic has admitted to and she tells him he's totally ruined her. He replies "Ive done worse"....and with that the final show is Tuesday night where they will pick up with Vic and the Feds heading to the drug deal/bust.
My feeling is Vic doesn't make it out alive.
