The concept of the National Guard is an unconstitutional usurpation of the fundamental right to a well regulated militia system.

I just thought that was an interesting perspective, and one that I hadn't heard or read before. I don't necessarily agree or disagree just because I quoted it, but dude may in all actuality be correct. I dunno'.

I thought it might make for an interesting debate here as well, and I hope that answers mv's question about what the "point" actually was. I wasn't really making one, just throwing out some food for thought and wanting to see what others thought about that claim.
