Paul Johnson is the shiznit

In his first year with guys recruited to a different system in a program with limited schollies dude is already kicking ass and owning in-state rival Richt.
I'm sure some of the local talent will be rethinking about where they should be going.
For a team that was supposed to contend for it all I'm not too impressed with Georgia.

GA is incredibly overrated and they showed it today. I know nobody runs the triple-option anymore, but didn't any of the Bulldogs see it when they were younger? Memo: KEEP YOUR ASSIGNMENTS. GT was breaking huge runs off the pitch and it was like nobody was within 30 yards when it happened. Jesus.
I really hope GA gets matched up with a Big 11 team so they can be exposed as the frauds they are. Arguably the most underachieving team in the country.

ACC 2-0 versus the SEC today...
Looks like the gates are going to rout us.....
I am going to pull a SEC Homer and ride on the sack of the ACC after we go 3-1 versus the SEC today.

That so? Rack him if true. I'm all for this guy pulling talent away from an SEC power. Anything to knock those arrogant asses down a peg.
Seems like Ga Tech is in a meatgrinder of a game week in and week out. Johnson has seriously out coached some people this year.

GT may as well have given UGA the plays ahead of time. UGA still wouldn't have stopped them.
Georgia = biggest fraud in all of college football this year. Nonstop yammering from those rednecks the entire offseason about how they were "robbed" of the title game, how they were loaded for '08, then Richt adds to it by whining about a Moreno highlight being as hidden as the Zapruder film. And for what? Zero impressive wins and steamrolled against every halfway decent team it played.
Naturally, they'll get to play a home game in the Chick-fil-A as a "reward" for surviving that brutal meatgrinder.

Georgia was definitely one of the biggest disappointments of the year but Georgia Tech in Johnson's first year was one of the pleasant surprises. The ACC doesn't have a great team but they've got a lot of solid teams that play with most teams in the country.

PJ was my first choice for HC after Callahan was shown the door.
I yammered to anyone that would listen. I felt he fit our culture. 6 yards and a cloud of dust.
However he had no history with the program if that means anything.
I really think Osborne felt the heat from booster's to hire Bo, which put him over the top.
I always wondered what Osborne really felt of Johnson and if he was seriously considered.
That's not to say I'm not happy with Pelini's performance this year. I'm glad he's our coach.
Could you imagine NU vs. G Tech in the Gator? I don't like our linebacker situation in that game one bit, especially with no Cody Glenn.

I thought he'd be a quality hire. GT should be nasty in the years to come.
If we do get GT I'm glad we'd have a long time to work on defending the option.

I've watched GT's last few games, and I don't think there's too many teams in the country that could have handled Johnson's fucking option here recently. It's unreal. God damn - it's funny as shit, too. The second one defender doesn't stick to his assignment - TOAST. It goes against every defender's teachings, etc., too. Nesbit has really learned how to run this shit now as well.
Should be very interesting to see how good they get it over the next year or two as well....
Nesbitt is improving in running the system but just imagine what will happen when PJ gets an option-stud in that system.

I thought that Johnson would junk the option offense at a BCS-level school. At Navy, I thought that the option offense was more of an "equalizer" than anything else -- the offense most likely to be successful with the players he could get at that school, plus a game-shortener. I also thought that it was impossible, in this day and age, to win with an option offense at a BCS-level school.
Wrong on all accounts, I'll admit it now.
As 'Spray mentioned, though, keeping a dominant defense will be the key. One of the drawacks of the option offense is that it's not built for playing catch-up football.

No history with the program thing is what could keep NU and ATM down. Sure there are unique culture issues, but coaches that have never stepped foot on campus can learn them. ATM is sure hurting from this same thinking right now. Others can learn your culture and traditions, but mediocre coaches that know the culture/traditions are still mediocre coaches.
