... running back in College Football.

19 carries... 311 yards.... AVG 16.4 and 4 TD's in 1 half and 2 minutes of the game.

Looks like Tedford just pulled him or he would have SMASHED LT's College Football record of 406 yards in a game.

He's on pace to go for close to 600 yards rushing in a single game if Tedford doesn't pull him.

The most amazing display of rushing for just over one half of football in College Football history.

Unreal.

Jet blue rushed for 311 yards in 32 minutes of football.

I'm sure you can do the math.

It's too bad he couldn't have rushed against those BIG 12 defenses this year. He'd get to take off half the game EVERY week.

30 yards

15 yards

0 TD

that's only 45 more yards than i had against USC

Ummmm, he played that game on a "sprained ankle" along with his 15 lb. arm brace he's been wearing most of the year.

He isn't even the best back in the conference. That goes to a frosh at OSU by the name of Quizz Rodgers.

Great half, but hardly the best back...on any level.

The best first 32 minutes(basically 1 half of football) of a game rushing in the HISTORY of College Football.

311 yards.

I'd say that's a little better than great.

It's UNREAL.

Jet blue... 174 carries... 1394 yards... 8.1 yards a carry. (PAC 10 rushing title)

Jacquizz Rodgers... 259 carries... 1253 yards... 4.8 yards a carry.

He's not even close to being as good as Jahvid Best.

Ahhh, another Toejam that's felt shunned by artistic and intellectual students that wanted no part of being second best in life(attending $C).

It a well known fact in California... if your kids have brains, you send them to Cal.

If they don't.... you pay for them to go to $C (spoiled children).

The Toejam's wanted Jet blue and Shane Vereen so bad (the 2 fastest kids in California).... they're now going MeSean on these stellar student athletes.

Pssst... these guys are "good students" who wanted no part of having a resume with the stain of $C on it the rest of their lives.

They're smart enough to know.... there's more than 4 years of college football.. to the rest of their lives.

I still laugh to this day... when "Jimmy Meds" said he was excepted to Cal... yet, went to $C (something EVERY $C student says).

I quizzed him on this... and he went EPIC FAIL!!!

He said... that his counselor sent in his application without his "knowledge" and was told he was accepted.

Too funny!

I still can't stop laughing.

You can't get into "Cal" unless you submit a letter stating why you want to go to Cal. It's one of the most important determining factors on getting in!!!

I would think being able to spell a common word like accepted would also be a determining factor in getting accepted to Cal, right mdoof?

Yes, spelling smack is certainly more than acceptable in this case.

Damn, shutyomouth. The "you have no defense" broken record you spout is no different than the "m2 sucks Jet Blue" shit.

I just looked at the average points scored for each team in a conference game in the bigger conferences. Since you equate scoring lots of points to shitty defenses, here's how the numbers look:

Big XII - 33 ppg
Pac 10 - 26 ppg
Big 10 - 24 ppg
SEC - 22 ppg
ACC - 21 ppg

Personally, I just think these spread offenses are so much harder to defend against. The fact so many coaches in the XII have gone to this has bumped the scoring up. It's a gimmick offense, but it's a hell of a gimmick if you have the right people running it. So, if scoring points means defense sucks, how's it feel to have a worse defense than the ACC?

All depends how you subjectively define "best."

Quizz rocks.

Best rocks.

Even in a "down year," there are some freaking excellent running backs in the PAC. And one very overrated one at the Infraction Factory (but has a bright future on the hit TV show Dancing In The Backfield With The Stars).

But throw out mere stats, which can certainly favor certain players over others, depending on a number of factors, and look at straight-up skill in the various facets of running the ball...

And Jerimiah Johnson was the best RB in the PAC, hands down. And #2 might well have been his teammate, LeGarrette Blount (whose name you'll be hearing a bunch next season.

While no team but USC played any sort of defense in the PAC (even though Alioti had a stable full of All American candidates, and managed to roll out... that?), it's still been a treat to watch the excellent RBs in the PAC10 this season.

"Left Seater" is right here. Sorry I don't drop into every thread every 30 seconds or so.

Post all the all purpose yards and stuff you want. It doesn't matter to this discussion. One guy returns a ton of kickoffs and the other guy returned exactly zero. Not because he can't, but because he hasn't been asked to.

Yes, best finished with 103 more rushing yards this season, but that was also in more games. Quizz didn't start the season as he was still learning blocking assignments, nor did he finish it with a shoulder injury. Let it also be pointed out that Best missed 1 game due to an injury this season also and three last season so duribility if anything goes to Quizz.

Best gained more than 55% of his yards against three teams; Stanford, Washington State and Washington. Oh, and for the record, Best was back on the field for more than two minutes in the 3rd quarter of the Washington game. So says the drive chart on the Cal website. So Best ran crazy over the weakest teams, but he also disappeared against the better teams. Against USC Best managed a whopping 37 yards. Against Maryland also a loss, the guy managed all of 5 yards.

Quizz meanwhile ran for 186 yards against USC and lead his team to a win. Head to head Quizz had 144 yards against the Cal defense while Best got 116. Oh, yeah, Quizz and OSU won the game.

If I am putting a team together give me Quizz as the RB and I will find a spot for Best as a return guy.

We'll see in the bowl games.
Ok, here's the XII's bowl games. Let's have your take on these before the games occur.

Valero Alamo
Missouri vs. Northwestern

Misery will put up 50 points in this game. Their defense is average at best, but so is Northwestern's. Either way, this game gives no merit to your statement that the XII has no defense nor do I think it will give much merit to what I consider the fact that the offenses are that good. So this one is a push in my book.

Pacific Life Holiday
Oklahoma State vs. Oregon

Another shootout. What I said about the Alamo goes here too.

Insight
Kansas vs. Minnesota

Kansas offense isn't that great, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put up 30+ on Minnesota. Not a good game to judge either.

Konica Minolta Gator
Nebraska vs. Clemson

Another copycat game. This time, compare to the Kansas game.

AT&T Cotton
Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech

tceh will buttfuck this SEC team in the mouth, the same team who beat floiduh. 50+ points for tceh. no more than 24 for ole miss.

Tostitos Fiesta
Ohio State vs. Texas

t.u. will score 40+ against a good OSU defense.

FedEx BCS National Championship Game
Florida vs. Oklahoma

OU won't score 60+, but we're comparing the XII's average score vs. XII opponents here. I believe that was 33 points per game. OU will reach that against the #2 team in the nation and the #1 team in the SEC. Will it be enough to win? I don't know. But that's not what we're arguing here.

So, either get specific and call your shots like I did here or you have no leg to stand on.

Psssst.... that's what happens when you play injured half the season.... something Quizz wouldn't do for even 1 game when his team had the "Rose Bowl" on the line.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... 147RTS.DTL
(11-19) 20:38 PST BERKELEY -- Let this act as a public service announcement to Stanford: Jahvid Best is as healthy as he has been in two months.

The Cal sophomore tailback says the elbow he dislocated Sept. 27 is 100 percent recovered, the foot he hurt two weeks later is close to being that well, and his sprained ankle is not causing as many problems.

"My body is sore, but whose isn't at this point in the season?" Best said. "The good news is: My elbow is 100 percent, my ankle is better and my foot is better."

This is heading into the Stanford game where he went for over 200 yards on 19 carries and 10.6 ypc.

Quizz had 14 carries and 54 yards, with 3.9 ypc against this same 'furd team.

Outside of the Michigan State game... those were the only games he was healthy.

When you don't have a passing game... teams have a tendency to put 8 in the box and this doesn't bode well for a guy who is getting over a dislocated elbow, had a hurt foot and played with a "sprained ankle" for multiple games... including the $C game.

Funny that the only games he was "healthy" were against the games that hit like a bunch of teenage girls in a pillow fight.

Good running backs put up yards against the big boys, even when they are knicked up, not just when they play against shitty defenses.

Best is a change of pace back. A very good one, but nothing more.
