Throwing deep on a team when you're up five TDs with less than five minutes to go in the game is bush, and as an OU fan I apologize to any and all Missouri fans for it.
I was totally confused.....I thought that Sam Bradford never played in the 4th quarter and that Bob Stoops didn't run up scores?
Maybe I was imagining the whole thing.
You are right....classless and totally bush.

This is the first instance that I can remember where Stoops was legitimately running up the score. Calling it like I see it.
Really? Let's see, Colt did not play in the 4th against:
FAU
Rice
Arkansas
Baylor
Missouri
Kansas
Played the first series of the 4th against Colorado, A&M
Played the whole game against OU OSU and Tech.
I know for a fact that Bradford played the whole game against Texas, Kansas, TCU OSU, and Missouri.

Fuck 'em. They were playing physical football, hitting hard, and getting in people's faces early... I guess lame announcers would say, "they lost their swagger" a few TD's into the rout.
But we could have run the ball too. Our 2nd and 3rd stringers were still chewing up the defense, to the tune of 100+ yards and 3 TD's... EACH.

FAU (:07 seconds for a handoff and we kicked a field goal)
UTEP (played 3 plays)
Colorado (played 1 series)
Oklahoma (which, of course, shouldn't be held against him)
Missouri (played 1 series, handed it off 4 times and was out at the 13:32 mark of the 4th)
OSU (Again, a tight game)
Texas Tech (Ditto)
Baylor (Played :27 seconds)
Kansas (Played the first drive)
A&M (was in for 2 plays)
Why do you lie? ;)
Seriously, I can't fault a guy for playing the first drive of the fourth quarter, which is what the vast majority of both Bradford and McCoy's time was. Tonight I wasn't happy about.
Bradford played in the fourth quarter vs:
Cincinnati
TCU
Baylor
Texas
Kansas (which was a 2 TD game in the fourth, not a blowout)
KSU (He threw one pass in a game where OU scored 55 at the half and three after)
Tech (For a whole minute :))
OSU
Missouri
Colt was never in agame that we were up 41 and throwing the ball with 7 minutes left in the 4th. There is such a thing as sportsmanship. Stoops has none.

I'll try one more time...the fucking media forces coaches hands.
I heard the 60 point record mentioned during the day well PRIOR to the game. OU was forced to validated the BCS championship game in lieu of Texas by scoring over 60 points and stroking the media's spin.
When the score was 48-21 in the third Pusburger said "Missouri has out played OU here in the second half" you could feel the implication of an alternate result in the BCS chamionship game in his voice.
When OU was leading 55-21 on the last pick, he was "there it is! That could do it! " Clearly refering to another score to get north of 60.
I don't know OU as well as Sooner fan (duh) and I understand the guilt by some fans of the starters playing so late and chucking the ball around; but the fucking media and the BCS "style points crap" has taken us to this point.

There is such a thing as sportsmanship. Stoops is all about running it up. He has done it the last 5 games!!! Having Bradford in last week and scoring with :28 seconds left was a joke. To have him out there again tonight, up 34 points in the 4th and still throwing???? Please. We had the national stage on Thanksgiving and took colt our when we were up 35-3. We did not throw the ball but 1 time with our back ups.
So we should have left Colt out there, scored 70 on the aggys and thumped our chests and said what? We beat them by 40 playing 3 quarters...The system is bullshit. Get a playoff and stop this crap

Personally, I don't like the direction in which this whole discussion is headed. "He's scoring too many points." It's that same mentality that's made kids pussies whose parents cry to the coaches when their little angel that can't hit a layup, alone on the court, literally, isn't starting. It's why leagues give our "Participation" ribbons. Jimmy and Jenny can't have anything in their lives that might teach them the value of competition early in life; or the realization that everything isn't handed to you in life... Let's give them a "Participation" ribbon in life. It's called "welfare."
I'll be the one to say it. Were OU fans in here talking about "running up the score" when USC was pasting us a few years back? No. Our attitude was, "fuck it, we should have stopped them." We don't want championships "awarded" to us. We don't want "split" championships. We don't want "Participation" ribbons. If you don't like seeing OU score so many points, f*cking stop them.

Just for the record...you got screwed, the only thing I can say that may come out of this is you are Texas and THAT might get us to some type of resolution in the future.
If it's Kansas in your situation, nobody cares outside of Lawrence and than basketball happens.
I really wish our conference would get rid of North vs. South and the two best teams by record play for the championship. The schedule could be rotating teams not based on division ties.
Problem is, Texas and OU wouldn't meet every year in regular season and both of you couldn't stand it! Nebraska and OU lost their rivalry as a result so....TOUGH SHIT! S

i have watched several OU games, and the Thugkers of the 90's had more class than Stoops team.
The shit with washington, talking smack when beating dwellers like Baylor and aTm? Waiting outside Mu's locker room last year to taunt and yell shit? stay classy Sooners, stay classy.
Memo to OU players, ever notice how MU players give the ball back to the ref, shake hands and go back to sidelines after a TD? it's called playing with some class, respect yourself for christ sake. If winning games and becoming a top program means MU players will have no class like that, fuck it, i'll take mediocrity and a couple year runs. Ghetto'in it up embarrass yourself, no one thinks it's cool. It's like wearing your pastel Polo shirt with the collar up.

I love how you go back to this. The way the system works is.....the teams with the best rankings.....(Texas and OU) were the ones being considered because they played harder schedules and were rated higher than Tech. Texas did not play a home game and Tech and OU did. By looking at all this, the 2 worthy teams were Texas and OU. We have scoreboard. Evidently it does not matter. Again, shoe on the other foot, you guys would be bitching worse than .m2.

Well, I for one appreciate the sentiment but no apology is necessary. But ya' know, not once last night did the thought occur to me that they were "running up the score". I'm a firm believer in taking all you can get, no quarter asked for, none given.
While the game itself was a mis-match, these are two major college programs. If you want to play on the prime time stage, then you had better be prepared to accept the consequences.
On the contrary, as a Mizzoufan, I would've felt even more insulted (if that's even possible) had they taken their foot off the gas pedal, or our necks.

Btw, I watched the 1st half from the bar at Ameristar casino while playing video double bonus poker in between snaps. I hit 4 Aces three fucking times, once with a deuce kicker, and walked out of there $700 richer than when I walked in.
Normally, I would've closed that placed down and probably given most of it back, but I was so disgusted by halftime my heart just wasn't in it, so I went home.
So for me at least there was a silver lining to that ass-whupping and my creditors can thank the Sooners for that.

It doesn't make you more manly to beat up someone that can't defend themselves. It makes you look like a bully. These are kids being educated in our University system, they are not pros. When blOwU beat Texas like that I said the same thing you just did but the fact is it was bush what you did in the last few games and the fact that College football has forced us to lose sportsmenship means that it is fast losing its appeal as a true sport. If you want football to go the way of boxing that's fine, I don't.

Here's the thing with this 3-way tie. OU is going to the BCS championship game but they lost to Texas, so Texas fan is bitching the loudest. If Texas would have gone I think you would hear Taco Tech fan bitching the loudest because they beat Texas. Tech really has nothing they could say to blOwU since they lost to them. If Tech were the ones to have gone to the BCS championship game the ones bitching the loudest would have been OU since they beat tech, Texas fan wouldn't really have a leg to stand on since they lost to Tech.
See how this works, the one who has the most to bitch about is the one who beat the team that went.
I'm over it, I'm lookin forward to the Ohio State game and hoping Texas proves they are good enough to garner a share of the title.

As Stoops said last night in the selection show, they are the ones going because the rules everyone agreed on before the season says they go. That's the bottom line. Everyone is playing by the same rules. Should misery have beaten OU and Alabama beaten Florida, it would have likely been Bama and t.u. in the BCS Championship game. Then you get the folks claiming t.u. shouldn't be there because they didn't win their conference. What would be your retort? More than likely it would be that "everyone agreed to use the BCS rankings before the season" just as has been used in the past.
OU deserves to play for a championship. Florida deserves it too. t.u. deserves it as well as tceh, but with the system everyone plays by, only two can go. Bitching and moaning about it after the fact, regardless if you are "over it now", just makes you look like a crybaby.
Now, insert some "smack" about how A&M sucks and be done with it. Guess what...the past few years, I'd agree with you even though we won against you the past two.

The BCS is thoroughly discredited & totally fucked so let's quit pretending that running up the score isn't part of the ranking system. Before the week is out, nobody but Tigerfan is going to even remember, much less give a shit that OU ran up the score. And nobody but Texasfan remembers or gives a shit that Texas beat OU several weeks ago- because it

Rack!!!
I want a fucking playoff system; if for no other reason than for a self centered one. I'm sick of having to defend my alma mater being in position to win a national title when it's had on of the best seasons that year in college football. Bring on all comers. Let the top 8 teams duke it out. Winner gets a trophy on the shelf. I'm sick of hearing Cryami and Washington fan whine about 2000, I'm sick of hearing Spoiled Children cry about 2004, etc. Oklahoma has just as much (notice I said just as much not more before you strt your balling again Harv and Vito) as Texass, Florida, Alabama, Taco Tech, USC, and Penn State. Hell there's seven of your eight teams in a playoff there. Throw in Utah for a mercy killing in the first round. Make all the games on neutral fields...
truely neutral fields. LSU's now won two national titles at what amounted to being a home game; Florida is going to have shot this time around.
I do think 16 teamns a bit of overkill for a football playoff. I might go for 12 with the top 4 teams in a BCS type like rating scenario getting a bye week like in the NotFunLeague but would still prefer 8.
