Not bad. Robert Downey Jr. completely steals the fucking show, But Stiller has a few chuckles (Simple Jack).

I didn't get what all the buzz was about Tom Cruise's character...He's played the role of a real prick before and done it better.
Jack Black was a letdown. Like his character was an afterthought, there was no real development, unlike the rest, there was no real "story behind the story".
The movie kind of tapers off heading in to the last 20 minutes.

I thought Downey Jr. and Cruise were fucking hilarious. Stiller was Stiller.

The only thing Black said that was remotely funny was when he was tied to the tree and started offering a blow job to Al Pac. Funny ass shiite.

I don't get why Jack Black keeps getting roles. He's a horrid actor. He's about as funny as TiC, and his "dramatic" turn in King Kong was about as awful as acting can get.

Other than that, Tropic Thunder was pretty entertaining. Especially liked how it started by seeming to be a continuation of coming attractions, with the "disclaimer" of "This preview has been approved for audiences."

I can accept the "dork" part, but neither "cool" nor "funny." And as far as talent equating to sales, one need only reference Adam Sandler to verify that there's no correlation. Then again, I'm a year or two removed from being in the 12-18 crowd, so what do I know?

Jack Black is OK... assuming it's a movie written for Jack Black, and the entire movie revolves around Jack Black being Jack Black.

Look no further than School Of Rock, which was entertaining.

Pretty sure he isn't getting swarms of offers to do Shakespearian Festivals over the summer, though. Any role that requires any acting beyond being Jack Black...
