I've been doing some work on the deck / pool area and hired a guy and his son to do the concrete work and put a pergola over the deck.
Really nice guy, typical Missouri - hard worker, likes football, hunting, trucks, Beer - same type of people i've been around most of my life.

He broke off with an Obama joke today, and I laughed a little, just to avoid the weird pause in the conversation, and then went on to say, I didn't think he'd be any worse than Bush and yadda, yadda, etc..

We ended up talking about the economy and the world, and then he started mentioning how he'd done some work for another guy recently that told him all about the new American Concentration Camps the New World order was building

He had went to this website: http://www.apfn.org/apfn/camps.htm and was now pretty convinced that UN trooops led by Canadian and Mexican forces were making plans now to take our guns, round us up and send us to the little camps you'll see in the videos.

I tried to explain that there's a certain lunatic fringe out on the Interwebs and gave him the address of T1........ errrr..... i just tried to say there's a whole group of Kevnic's, Dio's, LTs et; al loons with too much time and not enough ritilan on their hands.
He mentioned he also listened to Michael Savage, Rush and the rest of the AM hate crowd.

I did take the time to look this garbage up, and of course it's the same nimrods that brought us 9-11 done by US crap.
I also kinda felt sorry for the guy - good people but just totally gullable to believe this trash.

Sad that middle America is playing to the stereotype.

No. This meltage has been going for some time now. The material at the site KC Scott posted is dated so you can figure it out. And it's not ALL from "so-called" Christians, Radio Rahim.

If there wasn't historical precedence for these kinds of things, I could see dismissing it summarily as "wacko". But since there is a cycle of abuse of power and oppression throughout history, much of which inspired the founders to pen the U.S. Constitution in the manner in which they did such that the people could protect and defend themselves against it - I prefer a reasonable acknowledgement of concerns and investigation into them.

FEMA is cited, these "camps" are more than likely refugee sites where people can be transported to in times of national crisis and emergency. It is irresponsible for state and local government to not plan for disaster. The logistical nightmare that would be a mass exodus - New Orleans anyone ? - is trying to be avoided. So planning for these things on the community, state, local and federal level is the responsible thing to do.

Sure. With our manipulation of the language, what we all look back at now as an egregious afront on the Constitutional rights of Japanese Americans was actually called "Japanese Evacuation and Relocation, 1942-1945".

Going back to New Orleans, the military was used, and the tasks before them were to deliver assistance AND if you were ARMED, to seize your weapon.

Yeah, well when "refugees" start shooting back at volunteers trying to help them, disarming them is probably the safest course to take.
