Probably a good wake up call as they enter conference play.
But yeah, nice wins for Arkansas. Where the fuck did they come from?

Hogs under-achieved mightily under Stan Heath despite good recruiting. i thought Pelphrey was a good hire, i like watching his teams play. Arkie has a big gym they fill, rapid support, and history...no reason they should be down for extended periods of time.

He didn't inherit a great situation there and had it turned around by year 3.King Crimson wrote:Hogs under-achieved mightily under Stan Heath despite good recruiting.

They're pretty guard-thick, but they've been playing really good basketball. That one cat with the dreadlocks was getting to the rim at will against OU. The state of Oklahoma let one get away in Rotnei Clarke, too, lemmetellya. I think that he's got the potential to be a big-time player.

Fortson is the guy with the dreads, but he's been slumping a little. OU led for Clarke for a while and (if you believe) the posting lineage of the old scouts/rivals boards and now OUhoops.com Clarke and Willie Warren were a package deal and buddies until there weren't enough shots on their AAU team for both of them. OU and Capel stuck on Warren (even though Willie did commit to Baylor at one point) and let Clarke go.the_ouskull wrote:They're pretty guard-thick, but they've been playing really good basketball. but, I agree. he's a baller. he's got sack-ton of points against Bama right now, i don't how many since it's muted.
edit: here's Clarke's line for this game:
FG 3pt FT Pts.
9-11 6-8 2-2 26

How you liking the hoops site? I'm in e-love with it personally. I also hear it has pissed the Hale brothers off immensely. Finally a site that really does give a shit about the basketball squad and real coverage with a little bit of real inside information for us hoops fan...King Crimson wrote:the_ouskull wrote: and now OUhoops.com

i like it. there's kind of a star chamber of posters who think their poop doesn't stink merely because they post a lot and i'm sure the off-season will be the usual litany of "who's your starting 5?" threads (one time at the insider board there were 3 of those on the same page) and we need a "true point guard". However, the other "hoops" board, the non kneejerk board that Tony ran had about 6 posts in the last 9 months. i'm glad to see it take off.SunCoastSooner wrote:How you liking the hoops site? Re: Arkansas looks pretty damn good
I had the link to Tony's board on my old comp and can't find it anymore. Hadn't posted there in almost a year now. Should have moved my links but didn't think about it at the time and haven't spoken to DenverS on a personal level in quite a while. Shoot me a PM with the link if you would.King Crimson wrote:i like it. there's kind of a star chamber of posters who think their poop doesn't stink merely because they post a lot and i'm sure the off-season will be the usual litany of "who's your starting 5?" threads (one time at the insider board there were 3 of those on the same page) and we need a "true point guard".
