The OU offense just seemed ill-at-ease. How many times were they scrambling for the play call - only to use a simple off tackle run? It was a completely different situation when UF had the ball.

That's actually what the OU offense did all year. It wasn't scrambling for the play call, OU frequently uses multiple checks at the line and snaps the ball with very little time on the play clock.

Florida did a wonderful job of limiting yards after catch by OU receivers.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well OU's line protected Bradford, though.

I was pretty pissed that OU didn't just go QB sneak on 3rd and goal from the one. Bradford picks those up all the time and OU's line was whipping UF's at the time.

I called the FG block. Not sure what we were thinking kicking there anyhow. Stevens doesn't have a 49-yard leg.

Wilson fukked-up on the goalline calls. Given two opportunities it's VERY unlikely Bradford can't reach the ball over the line. Use some damn common sense.

Between that and the gimmie pick at the goalline OU really scewed themselves, and it came back on their ass.

Florida did outplay OU in the second-half but if OU doesn't trip on their own dicks this at-least goes to OT.

OU lost because of stupid mistakes. That being said, I don't see why the media is lining up on their knee's for a team that beat OU in Florida in front of a pro UF crowd by 10 points. What's the big deal? Is beating OU by 10 points on a neutral field really that big of a deal? :D

Uh...OU was scoring 60 pts a game against Big 12 defenses.

Not all, but some. The put up 60 against A&M, TT (in Norman), OSU, Missouri and K State. They had a nice offensive run at the end of the season and the media jumped all over it and anointed OU the USC of 2005. But, really....they scored with :28 seconds left against Ok State when all they needed to do was take a knee. They threw deep against Missouri to try and hit 60 up 30 points with 3 minutes left in the game. This was about karma. They ran it up to impress a bunch of hacks that would be impressed by the final score....not by watching the game. OU had the ball inside the 10 a few times and made mistakes. Broyles bobbles a pass that he catches all year and bad play calling inside the 1 cost the Sooners the game. Granted, they did have a good season but they had a lot of breaks go there way (Tipped ball against Texas that ended in TD, Tipped pass against OSU that was a TD) that did not bounce their way last night.

Congrats to Florida. They did what the BCS requires. They lost at home to an unranked team and they were crowned the best by beating a B12 team that should not have been there in the first place.

Totally agree...the Gators won the BCS championship but I don't think they won everyone over as the definitive champ when you have USC, Texas and Utah sitting out there. The national title wasn't decided last night...just the champion of the BCS. The BCS shouldn't be allowed to link itself with the term "national champion".

Rack the Gators. OU's mental errors (by both players and coaches) were the difference. The Sooners certainly could have won that game.

tebow is a leader, he had some poor passes, but still came back and made the big plays to win.


OU and their christiansen like play calling doomed them in first half, but Tebow wouldnt let his team lose.

Props to Florida. [m2ool] If OU scores TDs while its offense was carving up Florida's D in the 1st half, could have been a totally different ballgame. [/m2ool]

As WS mentioned, too many mental mistakes by players and coaches. Florida executed when it mattered, OU didn't.

For all the "Tebow wouldn't let Florida lose" nonsense the fact remains that Tebow wasn't the reason OU came away empty on those two crucial first half red zone opportunities and Tebow isn't the reason Black made the most important play of the game when he stripped that pick away from the OU receiver.

Had those sequences gone OU's way (and they should have) then all the Tebow leadership in the world wouldn't have made a squirt of Jesus piss worth of difference.

Point of fact, Percy Harvin had every bit as much to do with Florida's success as Tebow did last night. They don't win that game without Tebow and they don't win it without Harvin either.

Tebow certainly did play a good second half though and once he looked up and found himself in a position to still win the game he definitely did his part to make it happen.

One other thing about Tebow...

That first half pick he threw, the first one, that was a truly horrible decision followed by a truly horrible pass. Neither of Bradford's picks were bad decisions or bad passes. The second one in particular was a fantastic pass, as were most of Bradford's throws last night. In the second half though, wooo, I'm sorry but Tebow displayed a major league arm. There were a few delayed crossing patterns where he just threaded in some absolute ropes.

I know some people were deriding him for his "popgun" arm and he definitely doesn't have an NFL quality delivery (it's way too long and slow, among other things) but he made some throws last night that should put to rest any doubts about his arm strength.

Do I think he'll be drafted high and do well in the NFL as a QB? Nope. It won't be because of a lack of arm strength though...

Naw, I stopped caring really about the time Zook took over. Just wasn't the same excitement for me. I can't stand the guy. Plus, my grandpa passed away so I don't really have anyone to talk Gator football with all the time. I'm not a big fan of Urban Meyer either. Maybe if I liked the guy I'd cheer for them. I definitely would be supporting them had Spurrier come back. My love of Gator football stemmed from being a Spurrier fan and my gramps being a die-hard Gator, but both of those are gone. The days of going to/watching Iowa games and then coming home to watch the tape of the Florida game are over. Maybe someday I'll get smart and move down there and then care again. Who knows.

I was happy to see them win though, but I would have been happy to see Stoops get another national title too. So either way, it didn't really matter.
