Just a cool story I wanted to share

I took my 10 year old to her first NCAA sporting event a few months ago: FSU vs UNC women's basketball game.

My daughter was totally thrilled, and FSU won in overtime against a #3 ranked team. I wrote coach Sue Semrau, and she actually wrote me back and has invited me and my daughter to a practice before they go to the women's NCAA tournament.

Here's her two e-mails:

Scott,
Your kind words mean the world to me. To make FSU alums and fans proud
is SO important to us. To give little girl's a vision is equally
important. I can't tell you how much your support means to me. I hope you
were able to get to our last few home games. Let me know if you would ever
want to bring your daughter by a practice to meet the players and get a
tour of our Basketball Training Center. We also have a cool Courtside
Kids Club that ya'll may be intersted in.
Thanks again for caring.
Go Noles!
Coach Sue

The last one:

Scott,
We practice Wed. From 2:30-4:30pm, Thurs. we scrimmage from
9:00-10:00pm, Fri. We practice from 1:00-3:30pm. You are welcome to come to any of
these. Please just call Nadia F. at 644-XXXX to make arrangements.
Go Noles!

I think that that was just TOO cool for the ACC coach of the year to respond.

We will be going.

GO NOLES!

PS- -They got a #6 seed.

Seth Greenberg?

In all seriousness, that is a very cool story. I am sure your daughter was pretty excited about knowing the Coach took time to respond and invite her back. My daughter is 14 months and she has gone with me to a few USF men's and women's games and she is actually quite attentive in following the game. When she sees basketball on tv she will run and get her mini basketball and start bouncing it around.

What happened to you to change into such a bitter idiot?

Pity.

I went in for back surgery, but they wound up causing major nerve damage.

My optic nerve is now connected to my asshole, which has given me a really shitty outlook on life.
