Maybe some of the financial geniuses of T1b can give us some insight as to whether anyone should sink money into equities at this time.

Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that GE actually cut its dividends. That was the only reason I held onto it, now it looks like a bad idea.

Are we using 'price is right' rules for guessing?

I'll bid 4500. I think the bottom will be sometime this fall.

If Obama comes to his senses and realizes that full blown socialism won't work this time either, I might bet back into the 5 figures by the end of his term. Ofcourse he will call 'bode by pointing out that the market doubled under his watch.

Mikey, I think you'd do well to hold onto GE, having ridden it this far. It really is a very diversified company that should get it's shit together once they sack the fukker running it now. Not that he could have avoided it's drop.

BTW, what was GE's share price before it flopped?

Might have seen bottom..Barney Fag says they are going to change the mark to mark accounting and a few other talking cum mouths and made some statements...that the market seems to like, this morning anyway..

Osama seems to have hit the wall in convincing his chosen people to do anything. But O and Fag need to get private business working again..who are they going to tax to pay for all the votes...errr...handouts to the social misfortunate's..

So you putting the West Virginia (or was it Canada?) plans on hold?

Of course. Ever since I've joined the Virginia Defense Force, I'm sworn to bring water to the National Guard of Virginia, I took an oath. In fact, I've been selected for the VaDF-SoG, that's "Special Operations Group". It's an honor and considered the most elite unit. We bring Lemon Flavored Perrier to the troops upon their return.

You've just blown the primary reason for the Lemon Flavor Perrier. When the shit hits the fan we want to support the 29th in defending Northern Virginia alone. Sheeez. Doesn't take a rocket scientist. Looks like the cover has been blown on "Operation Bubbly Hotel Duece Oscar".

It could be up another 380 tomorrow. Or it could go down 380 tomorrow. Every day is a new day...

Pssst...

AIG created un-collateralized insurance policies guaranteeing Credit Default Swaps on mortgaged backed securities ... There was no money backing these instruments

Again, the term "(un)collateralized" means different things to different people. All insurance company guarantees are backed by the insurers general account.

As to where AIG's bailout money went, everyone knew it was going to go to AIG's counterparties, which were primarily large domestic and international banks.

Bush in his wisdom, hmmmmm, in his judgement decided not to let AIG collapse. With just months to go before the election and a heavy desire not to have another stain on his legacy, that decision was a political no-brainer. As to whether or not it was a wise thing to do for the nation, well that's another matter...

No, it doesn't. Unless of course you're asking people who don't know what the fuck they're talking about...such as wind chime hawking renfaire carnies.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, do you ?
