I have been asked to work the Southland Conference Basketball Tourney in Katy which is a suburb of Houston. Both the men and women are playing at the same venue and the men's title game can be seen on ESPN2 on Sunday at noon Central time.
I am doing radio work and thought it would be a good idea to give you a back stage pass to some of the action. I will update photos as time allows from my courtside seat. I will also try to work in some requests so let me know what you want to see.
When you arrive at the venue you look for this sign.

There they will give you this:

Then you make your way to the court and look for the seating chart:

Just in case you are still confused there is a card at each seat.

First thing that I noticed when I sat down was the decent view.

Now down to business. Each radio play by play guy has one of these in front of his seat. Lets you know updated stats as the game is underway. Makes things much easier and for a better broadcast.

Trick is to be able to watch the game while stealing a glance at this every couple of seconds.

Then you are ready to call the action.

When the game is a boring women's game you find ways to pass the time.

Or watching cheerleaders flip upside down.

Then when the game is over you look for this sign.

So you can get answers to your questions from the coach and players.

You have to watch out for these things as they love to come over and mess with you during the broadcast.

And with one of these on each end you are glad you have headphones covering your ears.
