Heard one today about an Irish lad who took his girl home to meet the mum.

The mother asked the girl what she did for a living, the girl somewhat blushing said "I am a prostitute".

The mother was taken aback and asked again, the girl, just a tad agitated now said "I said that I am a prostitute".

The mother sighed. Relieved, she said "Oh, whew, I thought you said you were a Protestant".
