How about a city ?
More Californium fun facts. Also Berkelium.
Interesting to note that there's still no "Stanfordium".

And there's no Harvardium, no Yalium, no Oxfordium, no Princtonium, no Cornellium, no Michiganium, no TheOhioStatium, no Alabamium, no Cambridgium.
To sum up, my school is pretty damn cool.

In your lifetime?
-No Pac 10 championships
-No Rose Bowl appearances
-No BCS bowl appearances (Why did you underline that?)
-No big road game wins (Debatable, but certainly none during the BCS era)
-No Cal transcripts with m2's name on 'em, much less any Cal tassels hanging from m2's rear view mirror
5 for 5, baby.

Keep being a Cal fan and counting titles nobody else recognizes, such as 2006, when Cal lost the tie breaker by losing outright to the team with whom they "shared" the title.
Is that all you got? A shared title which nobody recognizes??
Pssst, m2. The real winner of the Pac 10 automatically goes to a BCS bowl game, which is something Cal has never done.

Yep, really.
Cal finished with the same conference record as USC but they lost to USC, head to head. They lost the tie breaker. They didn't go to the Rose Bowl, or any BCS bowl. Had anybody really declared them Pac 10 champs Cal would've played in a BCS bowl game. Instead, USC played in Cal's Rose Bowl.
Meanwhile, USC has two mythical national titles this decade while Cal has still never played in and won a big game during your life time.
Chokeium is what any element named after Cal ought to be called.

Expensive, pointless and ultimately useless. Aptly named.
You've never been a bright guy without "Google"....
A whole bunch of elements were found at Berkeley/LBNL
http://www.lbl.gov/Science-Articles/Arc ... -here.html
At some point in time soon after Californium and Berkelium were discovered and named, chemists decided hence forth that all elements would be named to honor famous scientists (in other words, there never will be a Harvardium, Yalium, $tanfurdium, etc).
You're simply a twit.

So, back in the 50s some atom smashing geeks were able to alter a bit of uranium into something else.
This something else didn't cure cancer. It isn't used as nuclear fuel. To the best of my knowledge, it's sole use was to give street cred or should I say lab cred to some pointy headed, dudes in lab coats in a basement in nocal somewhere.
I'll bet all those SC and UCLA alum lay in bed at night thinking how they'd gladly give up every football and basketball trophy in their cases for just a little bit of periodic chart 'bode.
