Ok so last night I attended the Music as a Weapon IV in Charlotte (Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Chimarra, Lacuna Coil)...
Here is my review...over all the show gets about 7 on a 10 scale...4 bands...tough to fit each into long enough slots...3 is a nice number but 2 is much better (unless you are say Rush or Metallica, then just play for 3 hours)...
Lacuna Coil - Band from Italy...didn't know much about them...surfed iTUNES a little...Euro Melodic Metal on steroids is how I would describe them...Chick co-lead singer...pretty cool though...the guitars were a little over powered by the bass and vocals...but pretty deece
Chimarra - I was intrigued to see them...some of the stuff I heard was pretty good...but growling doesn't translate well to live music...the muscianship was pretty tight...but playing fast double bass and blast beats on just about every song gets a little old...they were probably my least favorite
KSE - Very active on stage, drummer kills it (Justin Foley is a MAN)...very clean and loud...they played a strong 45 min set...the only downer they did not play Daylight Dies...oh well
Disturbed - Was interested to see them...from what I have heard...tight muscianship on songs and pretty good material...They did not disappoint...the lead singer is pretty dynamic and the drummer kills it as well...
All in all pretty good show the highlight for me was KSE...they just get up there and have fun...had a good time...if you haven't checked out KSE do so...some pretty good stuff...and the holy diver remake is pretty sweet!
