Pet store

My Jane has been pestering me for a long time about wanting a guinea pig. So I made a deal with her. I told her that if she was able to raise the low spots on her report card I would get her a pig. No surprise that she got those low grades up. She's that kind of girl. So I stopped by the pet store after work last night to look for a guinea pig for her.
When I went back to the area where the rodents were located I noticed one of the workers moving around a pretty large snake cage. Then he moved away and I saw that he had just dropped one small live white mouse into the cage with one snake. So I stopped for a moment to look at the scene. The mouse was cowering in the corner and the fear in it's eyes was overwhelming to say the least. Can you imagine what it was feeling at that point? It's a sadly disgusting feeling. Anyway at the time two little children came by. Two girls in about 1st or 2nd grade I guess. They noticed what was going on in that snake cage and they stood there for a few moments. Then one of the girls starting to cry. The store worker who put the mouse in the cage saw her crying. This worker was a 20 something man and he had red hair and a goatee that it looked like he let grow really long and not trimmed on purporse. He had a lot of piercings on his ears nose and lip. And I could see a lot of tatoos on his skin. A skull and cross bones on his neck. I looked at him to see what he was going to do about the girl who was crying and all that he did was give a brief smile or sneering look toward her and then he went about other business while she continued to cry and point at the cage.
So I walked over to the young man and asked him if he could do something. He was short and rude toward me saying that the snakes have to eat too. He said that adults should watch their children. I know this young man was one who didn't get much love growing up. It seemed like most of his senses were shot. I couldn't get anywhere with him so I walked back over to the snake cage myself but the two girls had gone.
Now I know snakes have to eat but they could feed them at store closed time. Or I am also aware that you can train snakes to eat dead rodents. It takes some effort but you can do it. There is no reason to end up having a spectacle like that in your store. I didn't buy Jane's guinea pig there. And when I came home I looked up that store website on the internet and sent an email to the manager to express my concern over this. I'm wating his reply. I just wanted to vent because the incident kept playing over in my mind last night and also this morning.
Happy tax day. I have a miserable life and wish I were dead!
